The traveling couple had given us a voucher to Gingerboy (been totes wanting to try this out) for our engagement and we decided to cash it in because, well, it was going to expire soon. I’ve been wanting to check this place out for a while and now there wasn’t an excuse as to why we couldn’t go. Gingerboy, as expected is located in a lane way and when you step inside, you’re greeted by smiling faces. We got to our table, got our game face on and waited for the food to come out.
Thuan Phat, St Albans
St Albans, my local eats and the go-to place when I’m craving for something mum can’t make and my wallet is crying and waiting for payday. My usual eatery was Quang Vinh but that’s gone downhill so Miss Pandan suggested Thuan Phat and it’s always chock-a-block with locals which is always a good sign. Luckily for us, we got there at 6PM on a weeknight and there were plenty of tables to spare.
Pho Dzung City Noodle Shop, Melbourne
The Melbourne International Comedy Festival is in full swing and the work gang and I dropped by and had a few (more like a plethora) of giggles and of course need to refuel ourselves. Mr and Mrs Tequila really wanted to have Vietnamese so we stopped at Pho Dzung on Miss Mousey’s recommendation.
Pho Minh Long, Mitcham
After a looooooong day of playing with Mr D’s nephews and niece, we dropped by a local Vietnamese eatery.
Mama’s Buoi, Melbourne (Melbourne GPO)
Wondering around the city for dinnner with Mr 3 cents and Miss Curly Fries we eventually made it to Mama’s Buoi with Miss Curly Fries recommendation.
Chin Chin, Melbourne
Mr Italian Stallion suggested a catch up at Chin Chin and who am I to refuse him a delish meal. We turned up ASAP since we knew you’d have to wait a gazillion years before getting a table since Chin Chin only does walk in. Luckily, we got a table within 10 minutes (SCORE!).
Minh Ky, Springvale
Hung Phat, St Albans
Hung Phat use to be called Ha Long and is also now under new management. This is the gang’s usual spot for when we wanted to catch up over cheap food and welcome to stay as long as we like. However, this wasn’t the case when we went here on a saturday night. It was only 8PM and it was empty, hardly any customers and we got a table for 5 immediately. I ordered wonton soup with egg noodles (LOVE THEM WONTONS) and it was a bit below average.
Wonton Egg Noodle Soup
Treviet, Sunshine
My workmates decide to take me out for lunch since it was my last day of work before I jetset off to Europe (WOOOHOOO!!!) and we chose Treviet since it was 10mins walk.
It’s located right next to Harvey Norman and right opposite to Bunnings. We got there at 2:30PM (yep, late lunch…I was STARVING!) and there was hardly anyone in sight.
Pho Hung Vuong, Springvale
Mr D decided to take me down to Springvale to show me his fav pho joint, he just called it the chicken and cow place since they use to have the animals in the signs. Now they changed it to just the writing in Vietnamese (bonus points for me being able to read it!)
