Since it was our last day in Tassie, we decided that we gotta have a scallop pie and saw that there was a bakery in Richmond so of course we made a bee line towards there. It was pumping with people and there were heaps of seating indoors and outdoors. So you basically go up to the counter to order your food and bring it back to your seat. Doesn’t seem so hard does it? So that was what we did.
A wander around Richmond and we stumbled upon Czeg’s cafe which we promptly walked in to start our brunching date. It was a full house and you know the coffee is good when everyone in the cafe isn’t eating anything but are all holding a cup of coffee. We sat down by the window and you order at the register so take off your coats, relax and start your feasting.
A getaway trip can’t be complete if there isn’t dinner plans at a hatted restaurant and of course, trusty Mr D had made a reservation at Aloft for our anniversary dinner and I’m glad he did because it did get quite busy. Stepping inside, it was beautiful. Set in a glassed restaurant that sits over the water, it was totes romantic. The staff gladly showed us to our table by the window and we chose to do the $80 set menu. The good thing about Aloft is there’s set menus for people that eat everything, vegetarian, vegans and pescatarian so there’s something for everyone.
We were staying in Sandy Bay and asked the hotel where’s a good place for lunch and she suggested to head down to Maning Reef Cafe for some good fish and chippies and wood fire pizza so of course we rushed over. Located on Sandy Bay Road, there’s a great view of the bay and there’s quite a few seating indoor and out. The staff greeted you with such enthusiasm when you walk in that you can’t help but smile.
After landing in Hobart in the wee hours in the morning, we stopped by Pigeon hole cafe to grab some breakfast. Since Hobart isn’t that big, it didn’t take long before we got there and there were ample parking around. The cafe was quite busy on a Friday morning and we rushed in to grab a table. The staff greeted us oh so friendly and warmly and we knew we stepped into the right cafe to wake us up.
