We’ve walked past Pepper Lunch multiple times while venturing in the city and figured “why not?” and finally checked it out. First thing we noticed, it was self service. The downside, there wasn’t any menus available and the only ones were on the screen which a lot of people took up time just searching through what they wanted before they were set on what to order. Place your order, scan your table number and pay at the self service via card. You can order at the counter if you’re paying by cash or have a voucher and that’s another option.
I’m a huge an of curry, anything sizzling AND chicken katsus! So you guessed it, I got the chicken katsu sizzling curry. This was oh so delish! For the price, it was super filling, the chicken katsu was crispy on the outside and surprisingly not dry on the inside. The curry was quite spicy but it was rich in flavour. Definitely a great dish.
Chicken Katsu Sizzling Curry – $18
Mr D needed more meat in his life AND he could never resist a hamburg. Filled with steak, onion rings, assorted veggies and rice, Mr D was quite happy. However, he did notice the portion size was quite small and he was not fully satisfied.
Hamburg & Premium Cut Steak Combo Deluxe – $16
Pepper Lunch is great for a quick, affordable feed where the food comes out quick and tastes pretty decent too. The only thing I didn’t like was that you had to order first before getting a table and what happens when you ordered and there’s no seats available? Other than that, we will definitely be back.
