The baby triplets have been wanting to go on a date with Mr D and myself and finally we were all free for it (YAYERS!). The girlies of course adored Korean food and I wanted to check out Mahn Doo since we’ve always parked next to it and have never gone inside. So this time, we’re heading into Mahn Doo.
Grill’d, Melbourne (Melbourne Central)
I crashed Miss Mousey’s date to watch Zootopia (OH EM GEE! It was AWESOME SAUCE!) and so before we watch, we must feast. Since we didn’t have enough time, we opted for something close to the cinemas, Grill’d.
Maha, Melbourne
Catching up with the gang meant we could go wherever we please. Mr Burberry strongly suggested Shane Delia’s middle eastern one hatted restaurant – Maha. So of course I made the reservations for a Saturday night to indulge in good food. Maha is tucked away in an alley way and you wouldn’t even know it’s there unless you’re looking for it.
Tim Ho Wan, Melbourne
The cheapest Michelin Starred restaurant has finally opened in Melbourne which means, date time with the Traveling couple at Tim Ho Wan is on the agenda. The Traveling couple got there at 5:15PM and had to wait till we arrived at 5:45PM (naughty!! We were super late!) and got in 5 minutes later. Tip of the day – go when it’s not lunch or dinner time and you’ll get a seat straight away. We got in and looked over the menu which was also a place mat and there’s a bell on the table so you can get their attention straight away. So, let’s get the food on the way! First up, chicken feet! I didn’t really enjoy these. It was quite hard and didn’t have a lot of flavour either which was a shame.
Pho Dzung City Noodle Shop, Melbourne
The Melbourne International Comedy Festival is in full swing and the work gang and I dropped by and had a few (more like a plethora) of giggles and of course need to refuel ourselves. Mr and Mrs Tequila really wanted to have Vietnamese so we stopped at Pho Dzung on Miss Mousey’s recommendation.
Pabu Grill & Sake Menu Launch, Collingwood
Pabu Grill and Sake is a Japanese eatery that has been opened for 4 years and located in the heart of busy Fitzroy. The owner also influences the menu and regularly travels back to Japan for inspiration (dedication right there!). Pabu has released a new menu and I decided to take Miss Stooge 1 along since Miss Stooge 2 is away in Japan and this was the closest thing we’ll get to Japan.
G2 Korean BBQ, Melbourne
Miss Pandan had a craving for Korean BBQ (KBBQ for the cool kiddies) and Mr D couldn’t pass up the chance to have Korean (yep, he’s a HUGE fan!) we set off into the city in search for some KBBQ. Since it was Good Friday, you can count on the restaurants in the city to be opened. Luckily, G2 wasn’t too full yet and we all rushed in to get a table.
Sezar Take 2, Melbourne
It was Mr Burberry and Miss Teeth’s birthday bash and they chose to head on down to Sezar for some Armenian food. I decided to let Mr D take the lead and try to find the place and he spotted the bike which eventually led him to the restaurant.
Tetsujin, Melbourne (Melbourne Central)
It was time to grab dinner with Miss Pandan and since she absolutely adores Japanese cuisine, we decided to check out the sushi train at Tetsujin at the Emporium.
Palinka, Fitzroy
Palinka is a 7 month old eastern european tapas inspired eatery located in the hustle and bustle on Brunswick street in Fitzroy. Palinka is a traditional fruit brandy invented in the middle ages where they are distilled and bottled in Hungary and four provinces in Austria. Named after a fruit brandy, you gotta expect big things from them.
