The newest bad boys in town – Little Oscar and they’re doing korean influenced american burgers (what??!!) and have been opened for 2 months (still babies!) in Brunswick. We were greeted very warmly by the staff and was shown to our table. They had a lot going on with ropes being part of the decor which I thought was pretty cool. They also have a live DJ and music so you know this place will be pumping!
At each table there were wooden racks where they had a plant in them. It was quite cute, they could even put their condiments in there if they wanted to.
We decided to get refreshments first, to well, refresh ourselves. I got the Parisian and boy was this refreshing. I LOVED IT! Mr D didn’t quite like it, which means…MORE FOR ME!
Parisian
Mr D got the stormy old fashion because he likes to ‘brood’ according to the cocktail description. The rum was wayyyy too strong for me but Mr D loved it which was surprising because he isn’t a big fan of alcohol anymore. If you do order this, remember to let the ice melt a little bit to dilute the flavour if it’s too intense.

Now, what we were waiting for….dun dun dun the FOOD!
First up, the little oscar burgers. You cannot go to a place and not try their burgers which were named after them. They were such cutie patootie little things. These were pretty damn good. The wagyu beef patty was cooked to medium (AWESOME) and was so juicy and full of flavour. The sauce was oh so YUMMILICIOUS and I enjoyed the bun/sauce/patty/veggie ratio. I really enjoyed them!

Next dish – korean soft taco. THIS WAS SO AMAZE-BALL-LY AMAZEBALL! This was just perfect. Don’t be fooled by the size of them, they are just bursting with flavour. These were my absolute favourite dish of the place. The sour cream, kimchi, wagyu beef and spring onion, it all works in a soft taco. Don’t ask me how, it just does. We both LOVED this and agreed it was the outstanding dish of the night.

For sides we got the Kim Jong-Un’s Chips which came with caramelised kimchi, gochujang beef with cheong-gochu sour cream. These were the BOMB! Mr D couldn’t stop eating them and kept raving on and on. I really liked them too but Mr D suggested that maybe if it had some melted cheese on top, it was be super duper fantastical!

So…you guessed it, we needed to get dessert (by we I meant me!). We got the melted brownie to share (it was almost valentine’s day and we were being romantic). If you enjoy dark chocolate, this is the dessert for you! It comes with vanilla ice cream, lychees, strawberries and freeze dried fruits. The brownie itself wasn’t sweet but the rest of the dish gave it the sweetness. I didn’t think I’ll enjoy it since it was dark chocolate but boy was I wrong. I really went to town on this dish. No complaints from Mr D which is always a good sign.

Little Oscar sources their produce locally and is always looking for new and innovated dishes to add to their menu. The staff are super friendly and attentive and you feel like you’re at home as you step through the door. A definite place to drop by and worth the travel to Brunswick East. If you only get one thing here, make sure it’s the Korean Soft Taco.
