I decided to take Mr D out for some pizza at Pizza Farro and thanks to zomato I got a voucher to check them out. P.S they also offer a gluten free menu too.
How Adorable Is This?
We were greeted by friendly staff and was shown to our table (bookings recommended) and I found the interior to be super cute!
For entree, we got the calamari fritti which were lightly battered with homemade aioli. The calamari was pretty good, not too oily and not full of batter so you could actually taste the calamari. The aioli however, was very bland and didn’t have any flavour to it at all.
Calamari Fritti – $15
I got the antara woodfire pizza and the roast duck leg was superb and so moist. The braised radicchio along with the sweet pomegranate vinaigrette gave it a little zing and I really liked it. The pizza base was pretty good too.
Antara Pizza – $25.30
Mr D got the, you guessed it, cabonara (still wasn’t sick of it from Italy) and i found it to be very tasteless and Mr D needed to smother it in cheese, salt and pepper.
Cabonara – $21.50
I got the nutella calzone (nutellaaaa!!) and I was super excited. I was expecting an ooziness of chocolate heaven and I did get that. The calzone was pretty damn good although I wish I just had nutella and ice cream together. The vanilla ice cream was a bit tasteless so I left that alone.
Nutella Calzone – $10.40
Mr D got his beloved mousse and it was super dense and thick and not very chocolate-ly either. He couldn’t finish it even though it was in a small cup.
Chocolate Mousse – $8
I don’t think I’ll come back here and I’m glad I got a voucher to spend because I do think it is a bit pricey for the quality of the food. Pizza Farro, I’ll gotta say Pizza Farewell for now.
