Demazzi’s Stone Grill, Essendon

The gang decided to have a catch up since it’s been a while so Miss Teeth booked us in for Demazzi in Essendon. The only time slot they had left was 8:30PM so I had to have soup before hand since I still couldn’t eat due to my wisdom teeth extraction. Demazzi is located opposite to Coles and we still struggled to find a spot so go early if you need to find parking.

When we entered, it was super duper busy and to top it off, the staff said we didn’t have a booking (what??). But they were very accommodating and gave us the next free table since it was their mistake. We settle down in our seats and flicked through the menu. I had decided what I was having and it was going to be a dessert but I had to wait for everyone to eat their actual dinners first. Mr D ordered the Philly Cheese Steak Burger with pickles, kale slaw and double cheddar on a brioche bun. It also came with a side of fries. Mr D was very disappointed at the portion of the burger, he’d thought it’ll be bigger for the price he was paying. He commented that it was pretty average and nothing really special about it. He did like the chippies though, very crunchy!

Philly Cheese Steak burger – $19.90

Mr Burberry got the wagyu beef burger which came with double patty with cheese and beetroot. He devoured it i no time and thought it was lovely.

 Wagyu Beef Burger – $22.90

Mr Apple got the Tower Burger which consists of all the meats from bacon to beef to pork all smooshed into a brioche bun. It was also served with cheesy fries with bits of bacon on it. Mr Apple thought the Tower had way too many flavours which confuzzled him. The cheesy fries were AMAZEBALL though! LOVED THEM!

Tower Burger – $25

Miss Asian Fusion got the Sticky Date Pudding to share with me (SCORE!) which came with butterscotch sauce, vanilla ice cream and I think turkish delight or rose water fairy floss. I found the Sticky date pudding was quite dry but the butterscotch sauce was delish! The ice cream was well, vanilla ice cream. We found out that we didn’t like the fairy floss either and we shoved that to the side. It tasted a bit strange and wasn’t to our liking.

Sticky Date Pudding – $13.90

It was finally my time to shine and smash the dessert. I got the deconstructed lemon tart served with vanilla bean marscapone cream and that weird fairy floss. The tart was very lemon and had a lovely velvet-y texture and when eaten with the vanilla marscapone cream, it was YUMMO! However, I did wish they had more of the crumbly base because that’s missing from the whole deconstructed dish.

Deconstructed Lemon Tart – $14.90

Demazzi is really buzzing and there’s always a queue if you want to go. If you do, remember to make a booking. The food was pretty average but the presentation is what makes people come. They have all the insane crazy food like the gaytime milkshake and the tower burger which has every meat you could think of. Other then that, I don’t think I’ll be coming back any time soon.
