Situated alongside the Yarra River and Flinders Street station stands a bar which is always full of people laughing and chatting, staring into the river called Arbory. I dropped by with the babies after a day of showing my overseas cousin around the city, we were famished and I’m so glad I did because it was a very Melburnian place.
We grabbed the menu from the table and went up to the bar to place our order. First up, we got the small Charcuterie board and the meats were oh so delish and the bread was toasted and crunchy. Lovely board if you just wanted a snack and nothing heavy.

When baby A saw the New England Lobster roll his eyes lit up. This was AMAZEBALL! The lobster meat were large and chunky and the flavour, oh gawd, the whole roll was just mouthwatering. The chippies were crunchy but nothing compared to the roll. A definite must try dish here.

The white fish ceviche was so fresh, especially with the pickled chilli and chilled sweet potato. Definitely a great choice when it’s summer.

Roast grouper, if you like your fish with a pinch of chorizo and salsa verde. This was a touch on the heavy side with very intense flavour. This isn’t a bad thing though, this dish isn’t for the faint hearted but is a more comforting dish.

The braised pork cheek practically falls apart due to its intense tenderness. The broccoli puree was absolutely divine and this dish was perfect.

If you’re anything like me, then I’m guessing you LOVE LOVE LOVE chippies. I strongly suggest (well, more like you better get this) you get the chippies with truffle pecorino. THIS. WAS. AWESOMELY. AMAZEBALL. We could not get enough of it and I wish I could just swim and drown in these chippies.

Arbory is an awesome bar for a catch up with friends, first dates or even taking your parents for a nice view with awesome food. I will definitely be back when the weather picks up.
