As we were wondering around Chinatown we bumped into Bubba Gump Shrimp and Mr D was ecstatic and of course we had to go in.
There’s a cute souvenir section as you step in and the restaurant is located upstairs. Everything is decorated in a way which reminds you of Forrest Gump (yes that’s a good thing!).
We were greeted by a lovely staff at the top of the stairs and was shown to our table. So you get the menu and once you’re ready to order, you flip your sign which tells the staff you’re ready to go.
We decided to be naughty (well just me) and get fruity cocktails and mocktails. I got the Bubba’s Blue Hawaiian which had a mixture of spirits topped with pineapple juice. Sure it looked fluorescence and not real but it was scrummilicious and refreshing. The alcohol did give it a punch though. Mr D got the Secret Mango Sparkler and that too was YUMMY! It was so refreshing but it didn’t give me the hit that gin does (hohoho!).
Now the main dishes came out. I got Jenny’s catch with Lobster Butter Sauce and it comes with mash (MASH!! The ONLY reason I ordered it). I was super excited for this dish because I LOVE BUTTER!!! I was greatly disappointed though. It was super salty and I couldn’t finish it without downing any liquids.
Jenny’s Catch with Lobster Butter Sauce – £19.95
Mr D got the Shrimp New Orleans and he too wasn’t satisfied with the dish. His dish was also overloaded with salt and couldn’t finish his dish either which was a shame (don’t like wasting food you know).
Shrimp New Orleans – £16.95
The decoration was amazing and so was the service was great but the food, I wouldn’t actually come here for the food, just the novelty of the restaurant. Bye Forrest Bye!
