There’s a new guy in town and they’re serving up brunch, lunch and coffees – so I’m basically trying to say a cafe! Located 8 minutes from Chaddy, Stocksville sits just off the main road tucked away. Not so tucked away that no one knows about it because it definitely gets busy. Stylish, friendly and welcoming, Stocksville sure knows how to make you feel comfy and wanting to stay.
Mr D got a latte and unfortunately it wasn’t one of the best ones we had. It wasn’t bad but it was amazing either. It needed a bit more oomph and instead of waking you up instantly, it slowly wakes you up over the course of 2 hours.
Latte – $3.90
Prasana chai was great here. Smooth, strong and very gives you two cups of chai, definitely a plus. However, I wished they provided a side of honey so I could sweeten it but other than that, it was awesome sauce.
Prasana Chai – $6.50
Mr D got the naked burrito with smoked salmon and holy moly! It was so refreshing, light and definitely DELISH! It was literally a mexican bowl minus the heaviness and overloading of salsa. Get on this guys!
Naked Burrito with Smoked Salmon – $23.50
Black beans, pico de gallo, shredded lettuce, corn, radish, jalapeno, sour cream, queso fresco, tortilla chips, avocado, green tomato chilli sauce
I got the dairy field which is not great for someone who is lactose-intolerant but it’s great if you decide to ignore your lactose-intolerance and go to town. Mixed with various veggies and a poached egg, it was definitely bursting with flavour. The downside? The poached egg was overcooked and there was not any yolky goodness oozing out.
Dairy Field – $19
Crispy halloumi, portobello mushroom, heirloom tomato, asparagus, currants, harissa mayo served with a poached egg and avocado mousse on sourdough bread
Dessert tooths out there, the ricotta hot cakes are AMAZEBALLS! The pancake was fluffy, the maple butter scotch was sweet, the berries gave the dish a zing AND the ice cream balanced all the flavour. This was definitely a highlight at the cafe and I would definitely recommend this. Mr D is not a dessert fan but he defs enjoyed this.
Ricotta Hot Cakes – $18.50
Ricotta, berries, maple butter scotch, ice cream
Stocksville just opened up and boy were they busy cooking up a storm in the kitchen. The food here were definitely 3 thumbs up (coming from a person that only has 2 thumbs) and we will definitely be back. Come for healthy eats. Come for greasy eats. Come for desserts. Literally come for anything you want.
