Located on Little Lonsdale Street sits a Korean BBQ in a stand-alone brick building, Paik’s BBQ. It’s much bigger than it looks and it gets super busy, so make sure you have a reservation before you turn up. Oh, I wouldn’t wear my best clothes either because all the smokiness will get into your clothes. As we stepped in the staff greeted up with all smiles and enthusiasm and was shown to our table. Looking over the menu, we started our meaty night!
We ordered a variety of meats and unfortunately, our waitress didn’t really keep an eye on the BBQ and it did get burnt whilst waitresses at other tables were checking up on their BBQs constantly.
We got a side of tteokbokki and boy oh boy was this super duper spicy. This was quite salty and very rich.
Naembi Tteokbokki – $18
Japchae, my go-to dish at a Korean restaurant. The Japchae here was very oily and was overpoweringly sweet.
Japchae – $19
I’m a huge fan of cold noodles and so I couldn’t resist getting them. It was simple, it was refreshing and it was oh so good. Definitely loved this dish.
Naengmyeon – $15
Paik’s BBQ is a touch more pricier compared to other KBBQ places and the food was quite average with the exception of the cold noodles, they were the BOMB. Would I be back? Not with the service we received where our waitress was curt and not attentive at all.
