Food is usually the way to a man’s heart and it’s usually the same for ladies too. I know for sure that a way to my heart are goodies full of sweetness and when I heard that Laduree had popped up in Melbourne, I made sure to let Mr D know that my heart was aching. We made the road trip to Chaddy and located the cutie patootie store, right in front of H&M. It’s an open store and you could even have tea if you had an inkling. I opted for macarons on the go. There were quite a few flavours to choose from and don’t rush because nothing good ever results in rushing.
For those who’d love to have a bit of macarons with them, they can buy keyrings from $78 each (yes, you read it correctly).
I got coffee, rose water and I think orange blossom (I really need to get into the habit of posting right after I eat or else I forget). Mr D was a fan of the coffee (cafe) and didn’t find it overly sweet. I quite enjoyed the orange blossom because I LOVE citrus and the rose water was quite sweet but still a winner.
The service here were impeccable. They were so patient while I stood there for 5 minutes deciding what to get and each person had a lovely smile on their faces. The macarons are $3.90 each (on the pricier side) and yes, they are crispy on the outside, smooth and crumbly on the inside and yes, they were bursting with flavour. However, compared to when I had them over in Europe, I don’t believe that it was worth the price tag. There are plenty of macarons in Melbourne which can give Laduree a run for their money but check them out and see for yourself.
