Dr Jekyll, St Kilda

I’ve been booking places via Dimmi and I finally got a $50 voucher to use (SCORE!) and so I took Mr D to a brunch place I’ve been eyeing – Dr Jekyll in the heart of St Kilda.

The staff were friendly and inside was bustling with hungry customers (Yes, we were one of them!). We got a table by the window so we could people watch if we got bored of each other. Anywho, Mr D got his usual latte and boy was it YUMMO! He was really impressed with the coffee (and you know how hard it is to impress him) and finished it in no time. I decided to get the chai latte (yeah, the usual I know) and I really LOVE it when they give you a pot of honey on the side and that’s exactly what Dr Jekyll did. Sieve your own chai latte, add in the honey to taste. The chai was oh so smooth (like a smooth criminal) and I finished it before the food even came out.

Chai Latte – $5

I was still in breakfast mood so I decided to get the cured salmon with charred broccoli, beetroot and dill with two poached eggs. OH MY GOSH! This was AMAZEBALL! I had to share with Mr D to get his opinion and BAM – it was LOVE! The eggs were cooked perfectly that the yolk oozed out (eggilicious!). I just absolutely loved everything on the dish, even the roe!

Mr D opted for the lunch menu since he already had breakfast (that was like 3 hours ago yo!) and got the buttermilk fried chicken brioche burger. When this came out, it was GINORMOUS! There was just so much chicken in there and that’s great if you love your chicken. Mr D KILLED it! I enjoyed it but it either needs to be a tad more sauce because I found it to be slightly on the dry side.

We really liked the place so we decided to get another coffee each and just chill. The staff do not try to rush you out and are always on call to make sure that you’re comfortable and have everything you need. I can’t wait to have an adventure in St Kilda again so I can pop by and try out their dinner menu (Yes! They do dinner too!).

The Entertainment Book offers 25% off the bill at Dr Jekyll (which I didn’t need due to the Dimmi voucher already).
