5th of September was National Cheese Day and I found out that 400 Gradi was going to do a special pizza with 99 different cheese. Can you even name 99 different types of cheese because I sure can’t. This got me super pumped so Mr Angry Asian and I decided to take a trip to the Essendon venue to check out this grand pizza. 

we got there at 6PM and found that it wasn’t full at all. We managed to get a table and looked over the menu. We got chippies to share with aioli and boy, were the chippies super duper crunchy. It needed a touch of salt though. The aioli was a disappointment, there was no flavour at all and felt like we were dipping our chippies in goop.

Now, what we came for – the 99 cheese pizza. This was absolutely perfection. I’m not a fan of goat cheese at all but I still loved this pizza even though there was a subtle hint of the goat cheese. The different blend of cheeses were delish and on 400 Gradi signature woodoven pizza base, it was just AMAZEBALL.

We needed to balance our cheesy diet with some meat and we wanted something to punch us in the face (not literally of course). I had the courtesy of ordering and BAM! I got the Diavola which had tomato, fior di latte, hot salami and rocket. Now, when they say HOT SALAMI, trust me, it was bloody hot. Don’t let that deter you though, This was perfectly balanced. Mr Angry Asian would have like a tad more salami though.

I’ve been to 400 Gradi a few times now and their pizzas never disappoint. If you’re looking for a place which serves traditional Italian pizza, you gotta give this place a go. Also, if you’re a cheese lover, wait until Mr

Johnny Di Francesco has the cheese special because, boy it did not disappoint. I do wish that they put this on the menu as a regular because I’ll be there every weekend getting my cheese fix. Oh, do remember to make a booking because it does fill up fast and you don’t want to be the one outside watching others eat mouth-watering pizzas.
