So Mr D’s fam bam decided to have lunch at Hog’s Breath Cafe at Knox (yep, like a road trip for me!) and so in we go.
It is a very casual dining place where you have random things hung around all over the place like TGI Friday’s and is a very outback-y feel.
It was also kid-friendly and the staff gave Mr D’s nephews crayon’s and pictures so they could colour it in. I wasn’t super hungry so I decided to get the cheese burger in paradise which had a beef patty, with sliced cheese, lettuce, beetroot, tomato and smoked BBQ sauce. I asked for them to leave the red onion rings out (don’t want to be stanky for Mr D hohoho). It came with Hog Tails chips and lettuce garnish. I quite enjoyed this burger. Very moist, flavourfull and quite huge as well. I did also get the cheese sauce on the side for my chippies since I LOOOOVE CHEESE!!
Cheese Burger in Paradise – $14.50; Cheese Sauce – $2.20
Mr D got himself the one of the specials – Lite Prime Rib Steak with Panko Prawn with hog tails chippies and a salad for the sides. The steak was cooked medium rare and was pretty tender. The prawns were a bit too oily for my liking and the salad was you know, just salad. I preferred my dish over Mr D’s.
Lite Prime Rib Steak with Panko Prawn – $19.90
If you want somewhere for a quick bite I wouldn’t suggest here since it took over 30mins to get our food when there were only 4 tables including ours present. The food was average but hey, you’re getting what you paid for. Most likely I wouldn’t come back but each to their own.
