On our last night in Rocky with Baby A, we all let him pick our last dinner together. After a quick search through Zomato, Baby A decided on The Bush Inn Bar & Grill, located right next to the Criterion Hotel and of course, right in the CBD. There’s plenty of parking around so don’t worry your pretty heads with parking.
Seoulja Boy, Melbourne
There’s a new eatery in town and it’s not for the fainted heart. If you love Korean food, hip hop and a place where you can just chill then you should definitely hit up the new and happening Seoulja Boy. They have just had their launch which had a live DJ, food and drinks pouring from the tap.
Albert and Sydney, Brunswick
Miss Spam had a lunch house warming and people stayed for dinner and she was not prepared for that. However, due to the location of her new abode, we were spoilt for choice and decided to check out Albert and Sydney. The building itself is one of Melbourne’s first banks and has transformed itself into a wine and cocktail lounge. I heard the pumping RnB music and rushed everyone inside. It’s a lovely setting AND the staff are super friendly. We got a table by the bar and started looking through the menu.
Chalawan Launch, Collingwood
Chalawan is the latest baby on the block which has been opened for a few weeks and serves modern Thai cuisine in a rocking venue. When you step inside, the decor was fantabulous with great artwork a plentiful. At the entrance of the venue were seating for dinners and there was a bar towards the back.
Spare Me Kitchen Launch, Fitzroy
Glamorama is a new bar in Fitzroy that has been opened for over 6 months now and their interior is so retro-ly designed and has an extensive drinkies list. Inside Glamorama, you can find a dining option called Spare Me Kitchen serving modern Australian dishes.
Father’s Office, Melbourne
The work squad decided to have a day out where we were going to finally pop their exitus cherry. What do we need to do before we start trying to escape? Eat of course! I booked Father’s Office because of three reasons: 1. Miss Mousey has been and loved it, 2. It was right next door to exitus and 3. We could get 25% off using the Entertainment Book.
Palinka, Fitzroy
Palinka is a 7 month old eastern european tapas inspired eatery located in the hustle and bustle on Brunswick street in Fitzroy. Palinka is a traditional fruit brandy invented in the middle ages where they are distilled and bottled in Hungary and four provinces in Austria. Named after a fruit brandy, you gotta expect big things from them.
Belleville, Melbourne
Mr D had some places bookmarked for my birthday food adventure and the first stop was lunch at Belleville (which I’ve heard good things about). Located in an alley in Chinatown, you can see the signage outside which was super duper bright.
Siglo, Melbourne
Mr 3 cents (that’s what mumsy bear calls him…translated it to vietnamese because she couldn’t say his name…) and I thought it was time to catch up and he decided to take me on a romantic date at the cigar bar Siglo for wine, cheese and FOIE GRAS! There was no signage at the front, just a brown wooden door and we pushed through it and stumbled across the supper club which was classy and cozy. I was mesmerized and continued up the stairs and we hit Siglo. I was in utter awe, it was so amazing with the view of buildings and trees.
Mi Corazon Zomato Masterclass, Brunswick East
Mi Corazon was a tequila bar in Brunswick east, when you stepped in you were transported to Mexico. I was invited by Zomato to attend the tequila and mezcal masterclass and all opinions expressed are my own. We were greeted warmly by the owner, Kyle who prepared us all a tequila concoction with blood orange juice and it was YUMMILICOUS (totes wanted more!).
