Epocha, Carlton

image

Epocha has been on my list for a while and I’ve been trying to have dinner there twice already, each time we had to cancel because someone was always too sick to go. So, third time lucky I say. The exterior of Epocha is beautiful and I was in awe when I stood in front of it.

Eureka 89, Southbank

Thanks to the trusty stooges, Mr D and I got to have a lovely date day at Eureka 89 which is located in the Eureka tower. We both dressed up and made our way there. There was a red carpet and everything (unfortunately I took the photo when we left so they packed it away). So inside we skipped in.

Okra Blogger’s Event, Hawthorn

Okra or a.k.a ladies’ fingers is an edible flowering plant with edible green seed pods and found in West Africa, Ethiopia and South East Asia. Okra in Melbourne is an exotic south eastern asian restaurant located in Hawthorn East and has been opened for 15 years and loved by many locals. So, on a dreary Melbourne night, I attended a Food Bloggers Event at Okra.

When you step inside, you’re greeted by Freddie, the floor manager of Okra and he is hilarious, upbeat, attentive and just lovely to be around. When everyone arrived, the food started to roll out. First up was an Indonesian cracker (I forgot what it was called) with sambal. The cracker was AMAZEBALL and the sambal had a real kick to it so check your spice before you throw the whole thing in your mouth. Absolutely LOVED this!!

Il Bacaro, Melbourne

Miss Spam’s birthday was approaching and how else do you celebrate your birthday, find a nice place for DINNER! She picked an Italian restaurant in Little Collins street – Il Bacaro. We got the 6PM session since it was booked out. Mr D, Mr Burberry and myself got there at the same time and Miss Spam and Miss Mori were already there. The interior was quite dark and the lights were so dim (turn up the lighting please guys!) and it had a lovely ambiance. We seated ourselves and the waiter handed us the menus to take a looksie. After skimming through, the waiter came back to take our order. There was olive oil on each table and look how cutie patootie it is!

Malaysian Laksa House, Melbourne

There was a new Malaysian Laksa eatery which has just opened on Elizabeth street and Miss Travel decided to check it out and so I tagged along. Since it was the opening night, it was super duper packed and luckily we came early so we were able to get a table. The staff gives you a menu at the table and you just order up front when you’re ready. I got the iced teh tarik and I love this, its just pulled milk tea. Miss Travel got the soya bean and she too, enjoyed her drinkie.

HuTong Dumpling Bar, Melbourne

Mr D had a lunch wedding and since I was his plus 1, I got to go too (woohoo!). After a day of eating and drinking in the city, we decided that we needed to refuel and dun dun dun….dumplings were on the agenda. The renown dumplings in Melbourne were at HuTong Dumpling Bar and so off we went inside to fulfill our dumplings desire.
