On the way to the chocolaterie in Yarra Valley, we realised that we hadn’t had lunch yet so luckily for us, we turned into a shopping strip and eye a bakery, Yarra Flats Baking Co. bakery to be exact. A humble bakery that serves pies, sausage rolls, toasties and of course desserts and pastries by friendly staff! It’s located right next to the carpark so don’t stress about parking either.

There were so many varieties of pies and it was so hard to just pick one (yep, forgot to take the photos of all the different pies and the before shot) but I managed to settle on the steak and cheese pie. This was great! The pastry was light and flaky and the filling, it was flavoursome and the seasoning was perfect. However, there could be just a touch more filling, including the cheese (I’m a huge cheese fan) but other than that, I loved it.

One of the babies got the signature sausage pie and DAMN SON it was totes AMAZEBALLS! It was very light like a ball of clouds with heaps of veggies which made it healthy and just scrumptious. This was definitely the best sausage roll we’ve ever had.

This bakery serves up great pies and AMAZING sausage pies. Definitely drop by here if you’re on your way to the Yarra Valley because that sausage pie was on point.
