The girlie’s friend suggested another ice cream place where they’re known for their coconut ice cream. I mean, sure I was full from dinner and dessert but who could say no to a second dessert? My dessert stomach was in full swing and we waddled to Sangkaya.
As I was walking past, I could see a lot of customers eating ice cream out of coconuts and that pumped me up. I rushed over to the counter and ordered the signature coconut ice cream which comes with 4 scoops of ice cream and 3 toppings all in a coconut.
Signature Coconut Ice Cream – 10.50RM
There wasn’t a big variety of toppings, mostly cereal, nuts, chocolate sauce and other knick knacks. I’m not a huge fan of toppings but Miss Traveler was pumping on the peanuts.
Toppings
I brought it over and shared it with everyone. Sure it was coconut-y but it wasn’t creamy at all. It was more of a sorbet so that was a little bit disappointing. When you get to the bottom, you’re surprised with little coconut pieces which was lovely.
Eat Me!
They give you a cutie patootie shovel spoon to eat with (I even took it back to Melbourne with me hohoho).

Sangkaya is known for their coconut ice cream but I wouldn’t really call it ice cream, it’s really a sorbet texture and taste and I found that misleading. It was refreshing and it could have a more stronger coconut tasting. I think I might skip this joint if I come back to KL. Sorry Sangkaya, I’m not really cocoloco for your coconuts.
