Gemelli Cafe Grill is the new eatery at Point Cook offering burgers and steaks from the grill and aims to use local produce and give back to the community (naww). I was invited by Yolk Agency and Gemelli Cafe Grill to attend their opening launch and all opinions expressed are my own.
Inside the eatery, it’s very modern and spacious with a lot of tables and seats both inside and outside.
Even an open kitchen so you can take a peek-a-boo if you want to stretch your legs.
A cabinet filled with sweets for those with a sweet tooth.
Little ham and chickpea salad arrived and they were in cutie patootie bowls. I found this to be quite average, not a lot of flavour which was a little bit disappointing.

Next salad to pass by was the Mt Zero Organic Quinoa Salad and I really enjoyed this. It was zingy and sweet with beetroot, goat’s cheese, raspberry vinaigrette and fresh lime. I really REALLLY liked this salad.

The first burger to go around was the Chicken-Mex. It is a spiced free range chicken with jalapenos, and ancho-mayo. This was quite spicy and I had to make sure I had water next to me. The chicken was juicy and not dry at all. I quite enjoyed this burger.

Next up, the I’m Single Burger which was a homemade beef patty, cheese, lettuce, onion, pickles, relish and burger sauce. This was pretty good but I enjoyed the Chicken Mex more.

The last burger to come around was the Senor Bean which was the vegetarian burger consisting of spicy, panko crumbed black bean and corn patty, slaw, cheese, guacamole, relish and coriander yoghurt. I LOVED this burger the best. Sure it was really spicy but I finished it like a trooper. Great vegetarian alternative burger.

Finally, they came out with steaks (I got the eye fillet) and I didn’t really like it. I found the steak to be quite hard and not tender at all, even though it was cooked medium rare which was a shame.
I found the Senor Bean burger and the Quinoa salad to be the YUMMILICIOUS dishes but I’d only drop by if I was in the area or I’m a local. It’s a pretty decent local joint and it’s worth dropping by if you’re craving for some burgers.
