Innocent Bystander has been on my list for a while and a sunny Sunday meant time for brunch! Getting there was a breeze and there was plenty of parking. It’s a very spacious venue and the staff were oh so friendly and you knew it was going to be a fun and casual affair. Luckily we made a booking because it got oh so busy!
Sweet Potato Chips – $11
Yoghurt, Mediterranean spiced salt
The first thing that came to my head when I saw the paella was….it was tiny! However, despite its size, it was so tasty and full of flavour. It was so well balanced – salty, zesty and aromatic. This was the highlight of our lunch!
Paella Con Carne – $29
Chorizo, chicken, eggplant, peas, zucchini, tomato, sofrito
We’ve heard great things about the pizzas and surely we had to get some. We got a capricciosa and a margherita because who could resist cheese on cheese? However, when both pizzas came out, we were disappointed. The capricciosa was super salty and the margherita was way too tomatoey. The base was unfortunately not fluffy at all.
Capricciosa – $27 Margherita – $24
Innocent Bystander is a great place to catch up over drinkies and paella. It has a great atmosphere. However, the pizzas weren’t magnificent which was a shame and it is on the pricy end.
