There’s a new bad boy in town and they’re a little bit fancy and oh so authentic. Newly opened, The Wanderer Thai Bar and Kitchen has a very welcoming vibe with a fully stocked bar. It could be for a first date (or 5th or 6th date), catch up with friends after work drinkies, it could be basically for anything and you know that this is the place to be.
Chicken wingers out there, these chicken wings were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The seasoning, well let me tell you, the seasoning is salty, lemony and a bit spicy. Let me rephrase, hella spicy for me. BUT despite the spiciness, we LOVE it!
Chicken Wings (6pc) – $9.90
I’m generally a green curry kinda girl BUT with my love of ducks, I’ve been converted to the red duck curry. This was creamy, it wasn’t overly rich and it was goddamn delicious. We went to town with this dish. It was very generous in size too and we weren’t able to finish it at all.
Red Duck Curry – $19.90
With rambutan, pineapple, cherry tomatoes and basil
Now everyone knows a pad thai when they see one and damn this place does it well. Next to the pad thai, there’s a little pile of sugar, peanuts, chili flakes and even mini teeny prawn thingys (is that even a word??!!). So adjust to your taste, mix to your pleasure and enjoy the dish. It was perfectly balanced and oh so comforting.
Chicken Pad Thai – $17.90
Stir fried thin noodles with hens’ egg, bean sprouts, garlic, chives, tamarind, palm sugar, peanuts
Even though The Wanderer has only been opened or 3 weeks or so, they’re killing it and serving authentic Thai food in a great location with awesome decor and bar. The service was great and we will definitely be back.
