I always try to wake up super early on work trips so I can venture out and check out the cafe scenes. Luckily for me, there was a cute spot 5 minutes walk from my hotel in Parramatta, Lil Miss Collins. It was a pop up but it was very adorable nonetheless. I walked inside (it was still situated outside though) and the staff were so friendly. I took a seat and BAM I had decided what I wanted.
First up, a Tumeric Latte or a.k.a golden latte to hit the spot on a Sydney’s windy day. Unless you’re a fan of tumeric, this isn’t the drinkie for you. It has a strong hit in yo face but it was super creamy. Not my cup of tea but I definitely know a few people that absolutely love it.
Tumeric Latte – $4
I’m trying to have less meat in my diet and the sweetcorn zucchini fritters caught my eye. This. Was. FANTABULOUS! The balance of sweetness, savoury and all flavours were perfect. The poached eggs were cooked egg-cellent and oozed out a golden goodness when I sliced my knife through it. I loved everything about this dish and it was quite a generous portion size too.
Sweetcorn Zucchini Fritters – $16
Chef’s mixed seasonal vegetable fritters served with avocado, baby spinach, poached eggs, basil pesto
I absolutely adore Lil Miss Collins and I can’t wait to return to Parramatta to visit again.
