Royal Stacks is the newest Shake Shack inspired burger place to open up in Melbourne with the help of Dani Zeini who also opened Grand Trailer Park Taverna, Truck Stop Deluxe, Easey’s and Dandenong Pavilion. I was invited to attend pre-launch of Royal Stacks and all opinions expressed are my own.
The venue was pumping when we got there with a DJ playing and quite a few people out and about. There was a soft drink station where you just fill it up with WHATEVER you like!
Stooge 1 and I snagged a table and alas, the burgers were coming out! Prince Harry, aaah the closest I’ll will ever get to royalty. It consists of Aussie fed beef patty, butter lettuce, American cheddar, swiss cheese and a horseradish, shallot and gerkin mayo sauce. THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZEBALL! Everything was so on point (oh yes I said that!). It was perfectly sized and the sauce was just AWESOME SAUCE. Definitely a great burger and a must try here!

After devouring that, the fries came around and I found them to be quite average and a bit soft and not crispy enough. People don’t come here for the fries though.
Fries
The plain potato gems were LOVELY!! They were little crispy potato clouds which I could have just gone to town on all night.

As we were chatting away with each other, the Saint came out to march! This was GINORMOUS! With two beef patties, tomato, butter lettuce, onion, bacon, chipolte mayo and jalapenos, it was a MONSTER! I don’t like raw onion so I took it out and munched on this monster. I felt that there was way too many things and not enough sauce so I found it quite dry. If you like it spicy, the jalapenos will hit the spot. Stooge 1 absolutely LOVED it though and ate the whole thing.

Finally, the beast which I’ve been waiting for, the KING! Now, I was super duper excited when I saw the tray coming my way. It had a beef patty, tomato, butter lettuce, hand made mac & cheese croquettes, american mustard and special burger sauce. I loved this more than the prince harry, especially the mac and cheese. There was enough sauce which made the burger YUMMO!
The King
Now, it won’t be very americanised if there isn’t any frozen custard floating around! There’s various flavours but I only got to try the salted caramel one and it was OH SO AMAZEBALL! So refreshing, totally what we all needed on a 34 degrees Melbourne weather.
Frozen Custard
This new burger joint has just opened and is a must go to eatery. Amazeball burgers and great frozen custard in a friendly and casual atmosphere, what more could you ask for?
