Thonglor Thai has been around for ages and is right near edgewater near Highpoint. The carpark at the front is always super busy so your best bet is to park across the road where Aldi is and walk over. They also take reservations and it does get busy so make sure you make a booking and this is a bit fancier than your normal Thai restaurant so it is a touch pricier. The staff are super duper friendly and are very attentive and will serve you with a smile on their faces.
Since we were having a feast I may have left some dishes off the blog. To share we got the grilled chicken skewers with peanut sauce and this was grilled awesome-ly. It was still juicy and that peanut sauce was delish.
Crispy salmon salad was next and this was a touch disappointing. The salmon was overcooked and very dry and there wasn’t a lot of variety of different salads, just onion practically and the whole thing was drowned in fish sauce. This was not our cup of tea at all.
The pad thai was quite sweet and was quite heavy. It’s a very comforting kind of dish and it will definitely comfort you.
Massaman beef curry is not as creamy as the green curry but it was quite yummy! It was fragrant, it was flavoursome and it just warmed me right up.
Finally, we could not say no to chicken green curry. Very creamy, very coconut-y but it was very heavy and rich. There wasn’t a lot of flavour in this dish unfortunately.
I found this place to be a bit pricier and the food was either average or disappointing. Would I come back? Unfortunately not. Sorry Thonglor Thai.
