I haven’t seen Miss Mumma in so long and when there’s an opportunity to see her, you jump on it. Miss Mumma suggested Woolwich Pier Hotel. We got there on a Tuesday night and it was jam packed. The atmosphere was pumping, lively and very pub-y. Miss Mumma got the fried chicken burger but she found it to be quite dry and was average. The chippies were cold and not crunchy at all and she was quite disappointed with the dish.
Fried Chicken Burger – $21
Lightly pickled cabbage slaw, roasted sesame dressing, fiery mayonnaise, classic american cheese & fries
I got the pumpkin gnocchi and these were quite dense. It was very oily but you can definitely taste the truffle oil. It is a very heavy dish and don’t be surprised by the quantity because it WILL fill you up.
Pumpkin & Kumera Gnocchi – $22
Burnt sage butter, wild mushrooms, crispy sage, manchego, black truffle oil, toasted
pine nuts
Woolwich Pier Hotel is well known pub which delivers good food with a good view. However, we didn’t find that Woolwich Pier Hotel lived up to our expectations and was disappointed. We will probably try other places along the road next time we’re up there.
