Miss Traveler and Miss Mumma had a local friend in Malaysia and he took us out to dinner. Since we met up with him at 8:30PM, we were very limited to what we could have for dinner. He had a bright idea and lead us to Bangsar (the hip and happening place) for some ‘banana leaf’ dinner and stopped at Sri Nirwana Maju. This eatery was quite busy but luckily for us, we got a table within 5 minutes of arriving.
So we had no idea what to do and the girlie’s friend did all the ordering. All we did was pick our protein and I chose chicken (I feel like chicken tonight). So basically, you sit down and they place banana leaves in front of you as a dish. The rice comes around and we chose briyani rice which comes with a piece of chicken in it. The staff then comes over and gives you veggie dishes on the sides. I only enjoyed the one on the far right since it was cucumbers and found it to balance the spiciness. Now, your meal still isn’t complete yet. You also get to pick your curry / sauce to put on your rice and it ranges from spiciness. I got half dahl, half spicy chicken and it was SUPER SPICY!! Everything was AMAZEBALL! All the flavours blended well together and it was very rich in flavour. This was the ultimate comfort food. I needed to get the ginger milk tea to squash that spicy monster.

Whilst finishing our meal, we were presented with papadum (Indian crackers) and they were oh so crispy and thin. It was super oily though, but then they were deep fried so you’d expect that.

This is a lovely little joint where it does get super busy. It’s a chillax place where you just hang out and catch up with friends / family / special friends / pets over really REALLY good food. Don’t worry, there’s also cutlery on the table if you don’t want to eat from your hands off the banana leaf.
