Hako, Melbourne

Dinner with the gang again and we (when I said we I mean Mr Burberry) felt like Japanese. He chose Hako for a Saturday dinner and of course Melbourne was pouring down raining. We got inside it was actually quite cosy. It felt really modern and fun inside.

Menya Sandaime, Melbourne

So I’ve heard that there is a ramen place which is opened 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This sounded amazing! This means if I get hungry at 2AM, I can just head down and have ramen instead of the ol’ kebab or maccas. I dragged my friend here at 3PM on a Sunday arvo since I figured who’ll be eating at this time. The sign of the restaurant is in japanese and there’s no english at all except for the menus in the window.

Hihou, Melbourne

I was taken here by one of my two stooges and decided to take Mr. D and a friend Miss Pear back. What I love about this place is to get into the bar/lounge, you need to press the doorbell and someone will open the door and let you in (yes the door is locked, always checking). Once you enter they will ask how many people and if there’s space and in you go.

Turned out we were lucky and was able to get into the lounge area!! As the lounge area is carpeted and huge lounge chairs, we were asked to take off our shoes (yay novelty!) and leave them at the shoe rack. As soon as we got comfy and seated (or lay down), the waiter come by with the drinks menu and warm hand towels so we can be clean to start our drinking (great service!).

QLD: Bishamon Japanese Restaurant, Spring Hill

Work trip again woooo! Upside, I get to try out new places. Downside, I have to eat alone. So once again I made my way around the area and found a cute little Japanese restaurant two minutes away from my hotel in Spring Hill.  I was hungry, I was tired and there was room for me.

Stepped in and was welcomed by the hostess and was seated next to the window.  I ordered the Kozaemon Kimoto Sake while I looked over the menu and it was refreshing, fruity and dry.  I decided to get all entree seeing as my belly can’t handle a lot of food.
