Take 2: Entrecote, Melbourne

I haven’t seen the two stooges in quite a while and I needed to hand out their wedding invitations (oh my gosh so close now) and I’ve always wanted to come back to Entrecote to check out their menu after sampling their awesome sauce desserts. So we got our tooshies into the Entrecote in the CBD and started ordering everything in sight.

Red Beetle Cafe, Caroline Springs

I haven’t seen Mr Slowpoke in a while so it meant, catch up time. We decided to go somewhere local and he suggested Red Beetle Cafe in Caroline Springs (it wasn’t THAT local). It wasn’t too busy when we got there which is always a plus in my books and we sat our tooshies down.

Roti Road, Maribyrnong (Highpoint Shopping Centre)

We were looking for a place to have a quick lunch with the creative couple and since we were at highpoint, we opted for some Malaysian food – Roti Road. Roti Road is located on the lower level food court right next to Strike. There’s plenty of seats so you don’t have to run around like a headless chook. We bagged a table and flipped through the menu and started our lunch date.

Seoulja Boy, Melbourne

There’s a new eatery in town and it’s not for the fainted heart. If you love Korean food, hip hop and a place where you can just chill then you should definitely hit up the new and happening Seoulja Boy. They have just had their launch which had a live DJ, food and drinks pouring from the tap.

Club Italia, Sunshine

We had a workies lunch date to celebrate the final days of working in the lead up to Christmas. We decided that local was the way to go and everyone can leave whenever they wished. We all voted and ended up going to Club Italia. Club Italia is located right next to Sunshine Hospital and there’s a dining area right next to the pokies. It has a real pub feeling to it so don’t come down dressed in your finest garments. We put our orders through at work and when we got there, we were seated promptly and the food came out 10-15mins later (not shabby at all). I got chicken and pumpkin risotto and this was very thick. It did look quite appetising at first but once I shoveled it (Yes, I was super hungry) into my mouth, there wasn’t a lot of flavour. Not something I would come back for.

Thuan Phat, St Albans

St Albans, my local eats and the go-to place when I’m craving for something mum can’t make and my wallet is crying and waiting for payday. My usual eatery was Quang Vinh but that’s gone downhill so Miss Pandan suggested Thuan Phat and it’s always chock-a-block with locals which is always a good sign. Luckily for us, we got there at 6PM on a weeknight and there were plenty of tables to spare.

Belle’s Hot Chicken, Fitzroy

It was time to catch up with the baby cousins and we were wondering the streets looking for a great feed. We chanced upon Belle’s Hot Chicken and since the group comprised mostly of teenage boys, we were sure that this will satisfy them. We walked in at 8PM with a group of 9 and they didn’t have space, asking us to come back in 15mins so they can set up. Again we wondered the streets and 15minutes later, we high tailed it back and sat our tooshies down.

Spiral Beans, Preston

Healthy eating has been creeping up slowly and slowly on my preference when looking for food. Spiral Beans in Preston has ticked that box and has been opened since November 2016 (only a month or so) and is the new and improved version of Disco Beans. Spiral Beans offers whole food in their most natural state limiting the processed and refined elements. Spiral Beans offers contemporary cooking methods with traditional Japanese flavours.
