Coombe Melba Estate, Coldstream

The stooges were sleeping over and of course we had to brunch in the Yarra Valley or Coldstream. I made a booking for Coombe, the Melba Estate and  boy, was it beautiful. We got into the carpark and Coombe was hidden away behind these huge hedges. Once you step through the hedges, it was MAGNIFICENT! It was serene, it was gorgeous and best of all, it was classy!

The Corner Shop, Yarraville

Before I started my new job, I thought I’ll take mumsy bear out for a brunch date since we never really do that often. I thought I should take her to Yarraville since that’s where all the cool kids were at. We got to The Corner Shop and she absolutely loved it. The staff were friendly, the decor was just very Melburnian and she felt oh so comfy in there which was the most important part. We were seated and was handed a menu to have a flick through to decide what we were going to devour!

Brother Nancy, West Footscray

One of the stooges have been raving on and on about Brother Nancy and when I finally had a day free, I decided to meet up Mr Angry for some brunch. It didn’t look amazing in the front but it was quite cute once you step inside. When you step in, you’ll be greeted by the friendly staff and it’s quite cosy inside as well so be prepared to be saying hey to the next table!

Bekendales, Croydon

When the girlies came over for a sleepover, I decided to find a local brunch spot and after a while, I saw Bekendales has been around for 9 or so years with raving reviews. So I bundled them all into the car and dashed to the cafe to for our little brunch date. It was quite cute inside, not the usual Melbourne cafes but cute nonetheless. There were outdoor seatings for those who enjoy a little fresh air and it’s not too loud either. We walked in, got a table and started to flick through the menu.

Jasper Coffee, Maribyrnong (Highpoint Shopping Centre)

Since I had a few weeks off before I start my new job (Wooohooo!) so I decided to catch up with the Creative couple for some coffee (because we’re fancy YO!). They took me to Jasper’s Coffee in Highpoint because well, I don’t really go to coffee places since I don’t drink coffee. Anywho, we walked in, found a booth and decided what we all wanted.

Second Wife, Boxhill

When Ms Traveling comes back to visit, you’ve gotta make time to have brunch of course! So I was in charge of finding a place and I found Second wife, because well, Mr D might need a second wife after all these brunch dates I was having! Located near the Boxhill hospital, parking was limited but if you do get there early, there’s quite a few parking spots in front of of the cafe. Once you’ve found a spot, snag a table, looked at the snazzy decor and met with your buddies and finally got the menu in front of you, you’re ready to take in Second Wife.

Dumbo, West Footscray

Mr Burberry and I were due for a gossip sesh and I have heard good things about a local (well, almost local) cafe – Dumbo in West Footscray. It was off the main street which meant there were ample of parking. However, this is a teeny tiny joint = limited seating = high chance of a long wait time. Luckily for me, I snagged a table indoors and waited for my date to turn up.

Northern Perk Cafe, Brunswick

Those who are always on facebook will have noticed a certain breakfast tower popping up on their feed which looks like it could feed a town. This breakfast tower was the sole reason why the K sisters chose Northern Perk as our next location for our catch up session. There’s a lot of parking on the side streets and if you get there early, you won’t miss out.

Manna Lane, Mooroolbark

Since having moved out, Mr D and I have not had a local brunch date and explored the area. Since we had a Sunday to ourselves, we decided to have brunch (mostly because Mr D didn’t want to cook breakfast) and I started googling around to find – A. the closest brunch spot and B. highest rating. We (we really means I) finally decided on Manna Lane and I’m so glad we did because it was the cutest cafe around. Located close to Coles and right next to the station, it’s easily accessible and if there’s no space inside, there’s outdoor seating (although they don’t have a heater so remember to rug up).

Mr & Mrs Anderson, Hawthorn East

Mr & Mrs Anderson a new cafe which opened in December 2016 which makes it quite fresh on the blockin Hawthorn East. With a focus on sustainability and the majority of produce that is used are from their farm in Moe and straight onto the plate in the cafe. What’s even more impressive? The chef comes from Michelin starred restaurants and have worked in amazing Australian eateries including Attica, 3 bags full and circa just to name a few. The chef is bringing fine dining to cafes and it definitely shows in Mr & Mrs Anderson.
