Since having moved out, Mr D and I have not had a local brunch date and explored the area. Since we had a Sunday to ourselves, we decided to have brunch (mostly because Mr D didn’t want to cook breakfast) and I started googling around to find – A. the closest brunch spot and B. highest rating. We (we really means I) finally decided on Manna Lane and I’m so glad we did because it was the cutest cafe around. Located close to Coles and right next to the station, it’s easily accessible and if there’s no space inside, there’s outdoor seating (although they don’t have a heater so remember to rug up).

As we entered the cafe, we were greeted by the lovely staff and it was such a cosy cafe. We got a table by the window and got hot drinkies to start. Mr D ordered a latte and found it to be a touch on the weak side (keep in mind that he LOVES his caffeine hit) but was quite smooth.

Mr D is a huge fan of big breakfasts so you can imagine his excitement when he saw it on the menu. The bacon steak was cooked perfectly, a touch crunchy on the outside and soft and supple on the inside. The eggs were a golden oozy goodness that was very yolk-ilicious. This dish definitely satisfied Mr D’s big breakfast itch.

The corn fritters caught my eyes and my gosh, it was AMAZEBALL! This was an absolute delight! The corn fritters were not oily and didn’t feel heavy at all. There were generous amounts of avocado on the plate and the egg, once again, on point. I loved every single thing on this dish and licked the plate clean (well not literally, as much as I could). Even Mr D liked it and he loves his meats!

What do I think of Manna Lane? I absolutely adore it. It’s a very cute cafe where everyone knows each other and the food was just top notch. I cannot wait until we have a Sunday free so we can try every single dish on the menu! We’ll definitely be strolling back to Manna Lane.
