Workshop Charisma, Melbourne

Charisma Workshop has opened up near A’beckett street in the CBD, past construction work and tucked away in an alleyway. There’s a few tables inside the cafe but if you do come in a huge group (perhaps >4), it will be a touch difficult to find a spot. Anywho, Charisma Workshop is run by the Ko family where Jonathon Ko combines his passion and expertise in patisseries and coffees and shares it with the world. Walking in, you’ll be greeted very warmly by the staff and you will definitely be hit in the face with the smell of coffee!

Le Clec, Hawthorn

Hawthorn, home to the hustle and bustle of shops and heaps of cafes in the area, Le Clec sits nestled away. It looks super small but there’s a huge courtyard at the back with more seating with french inspired brunch dishes on for show, I could not wait to check out their new menu.

White Mojo Plus+, Glen Waverly

We’ve been to White Mojo in Balwyn and know what kind of quality brunch they served up so Mr D was super duper excited to head to White Mojo Plus+ located in Glen Waverly for lunch with the girlies (yep! The girlies)! On a weekday for lunch, it wasn’t too busy (guess it gets super busy on the weekends though) so it was real easy to get a table. The grilled chicken was very generous sizing and it was super duper filling (score for those who’s always worried about not getting full!). It was super duper tasty and oh so delish!

Grilled Chicken Salad – $19.50

The Vertue of the Coffee Drink, Carlton

A brunch outing is due with the girlies and one of the girlies picked The Vertue of the Coffee Drink. We arrived at 11:30AM on a Sunday and boy oh boy was it busy, it was peak hour for brunch / lunch. To get to this cute little joint, it’s through an alleyway and then another one and then BAM you’ll see people eating by the tables before you actually see the cafe. Now, once you finally get a seat, you’ll appreciate the decor inside the cafe. It was very green and it gets real warm too guys. Anywho, back to the important part, the drinkies and the food. The girlies got the ginger ninja and if you’re not a fan of ginger then this is not the drinkie for you. Yes it was refreshing but the ginger taste is very strong. Ms Channel loved it though because she’s a huge fan of ginger.

Harvest Halls Gap, Halls Gap

It was a girls weekend and we visited Grampians since none of us have been there. Of course the first thing we need to find is a cafe for some coffee and brunch. We were lucky to be staying down the road and saw the Harvest cafe which was a 2 min walk. We stumbled in and was greeted by the lovely staff and plonked ourselves down for some coffee.

Herd Bar & Cafe, Healesville

The Creative couple were in town and we decided to take them to Herd Bar & Cafe for lunch. We made a booking on a Sunday but it wasn’t really busy at all so we didn’t really need to make a booking. Nonetheless, we went inside and the staff were super duper friendly and the decor was just suave and very intimate. We were shown to our table and my gosh the options looked oh so delish.

Humble Rays, Carlton

The girlies decided to have a brunch date and took us to their fav brunch place – Humble Rays. Since we were visiting on a Sunday, there were plenty of free parking around (so don’t worry about parking yo!) and we managed to nab a table for 6 at 11:30AM. It does get busy so make sure you’ll be willing to wait! The interior was vibrant and calming and of course had little ‘rays’ of sunshine decorated throughout. The staff were super duper friendly and made us feel oh so comfortable from what we ordered to the quantity ordered.

Vanilla, Oakleigh

With having a new job near Christmas means Christmas lunches are due and our lunch was at Vanilla in Oakleigh. On a Tuesday lunch, my gosh, finding parking was hectic so I’d recommend you park where Coles is. Now, back to the restaurant, it was buzzing like mad and there were so many people and so many things going on. Vanilla is a ginormous restaurant with a lounge downstairs and a restaurant upstairs. Once you walk in, you’ll be greeted with the sweets cabinet by the counter.
