Mystery L Cafe, a hidden gem in Toorak where plenty of customers come in and out for coffees, dog owners having brunch while the fur baby sits sipping water. Walking in you’re greeted by friendly staff and the smell of coffee and food will definitely cheer even the most hungover up.
Mr D got the morning started with a latte and yes it was good but it wasn’t fantastic. He needed more oomph.
Latte – $3.80
I got a red smoothie and it was fantabulous! With mixed berries, plum and almond milk, it wasn’t overly sweet and it was definitely super healthy (great if you had a big weekend).
Red Smoothie – $8
Mixed berries, plum, almond milk
The sweet corn fritters are for anyone that loves well…corn fritters. They’re a touch dense BUT when you have it with the poached eggs, corn salsa and smashed avo, it was fantastic. The fritters could have a touch more corn in them but other than that, I definitely enjoyed it.
Sweet Corn Fritters – $23
With smashed avo, poached eggs, sweet potato crisps, corn salsa salad, bacon
Mr D got the fried chicken burger and holy moly it was TOTES AMAZEBALLS! The fried chicken was so juicy and tasted so healthy (is that even possible?). The cheese, the lettuce, and the tomatoes, oh my gosh this frigging burger was to die for. I’m not a huge fan of chicken burgers but I would definitely come back for this AND even recommend it to you guys!
Fried Chicken Burger – $17
Crispy fried chicken, lettuce, cheese, chipotle mayo, tomato, pickle, brioche bun, chips
Mystery L Cafe stocks Linger Patisserie cakes and when you see them, boy oh boy you’re going to be impressed. Mr D got the pear and it was beautiful. It was smooth, it was refreshing and it was oh my golly gosh delish!
Mystery L Cafe is a great place in Toorak where the prices are reasonable, the service was awesome, and that fried chicken burger was off the hook! We will definitely be back.
