When you’re meeting up with a group and there’s someone that’s vegan, we thought we would cater to them and check out a vegan restaurant so they can pick whatever they want to eat. On Nicholson street sits a quiet vegan eatery called Billy and Lucy. Billy and Lucy, on the outside it looks old and humble but inside, it’s
The Moroccan stewed eggplant and zucchini was very rich and the creamy polenta balanced it out the richness. The flavour of the dish blended so well together.
Moroccan Stewed Eggplant & Zucchini – $23
Creamy polenta, coriander salsa & coconut yoghurt
The potato dauphinoise was my least favourite dish
Potato Dauphinoise – $25
Parsnip, crispy artichoke hearts, onion jam, rosemary oil, cannellini & garlic ragout
I love anything with pappardelle and the pappardelle with eggplant, capscium and tomato caponata was delish. It was very rich and tomato-y and it was amazeballs! The truffle butter gave it a lovely fragrance and it was just delish! The pappardelle was cooked perfectly, bouncy and al dente.
Pappardelle with Eggplant, Capsicum & Tomato Caponata – $25
Green olives, cashew parmesan & truffle butter
The sweet potato gnocchi was so fluffy and the cauliflower puree was so smooth and rich. Another plate to get if you’re a pasta fan!
Sweet Potato Gnocchi – $23
Confit tomato, maple spiced almonds, thyme & cauliflower puree
Billy and Lucy is an awesome vegan place. I’m not vegan at all but I would definitely come back. I didn’t even notice that there wasn’t any dairy or meat because the dishes are so flavoursome. I shall be back Billy and Lucy.
