8 bit has been around for a while now and they’ve opened up in the CBD and since my friend, Mr Slowpoke hadn’t tried it yet, we decided to head to Footscray to pop his 8 Bit cherry.

It’s usually crowded all the time and luckily we got in and managed to grab a seat without Mr Slowpoke’s help at all (looking at you buddy).

Anywho, I ordered the 8 bit with cheese without red onion (who wants stanky breath? well if you bring a chewy, it’s A-OK) and I was disappointed with it. The meat wasn’t tender and everything tasted dry (what happened since the last time I came yo?). Mr Slowpoke got the afterburner and he too found it to be quite average. We also got the loaded side and it was HUGE! It was also real spicy (so much jalapenos) and way too much onion for my liking. Even Mr Slowpoke couldn’t eat it all (he eats anything you put on a plate).

However, the peanut butter shake was ABSOLUTELY AMAZEBALL! That is something you gotta get.

8 bit with cheese – $9.50; After Burner – $10.50; Loaded Sides – $10; Peanut Butter Shake – $7.50

Come for the quick service and atmosphere, stay for the shakes but if you’re looking for amazing burgers, you’ll have to find a new place because you’ll get average ones here.
