Keilor East. Not a suburb that you would think of when you think of great food but let me tell you about Piggy Smalls. Piggy Smalls is a humble venue that only has outdoor seating but don’t let that deter you. Hot dogs, milkshakes, onion rings and fried chicken ribs, definitely for when you’re feeling a little bit naughty.
The star of the sides were the onion rings. They didn’t look like they were cooked enough and was just slightly lighter than gold, however, they were PERFECT! The chippies were seasoned so well and they were super duper crunchy, the way I love them. I had high hopes for the chicken ribs but I found them to be a touch on the dry side which was disappointing.

Now to the good stuff. Piggy Smalls, known for their hotdogs and after having dined here, I can totally agree. You basically pick what dog you want with whichever topping you’d like to have it with. I got the New York topping which consists of bacon bits, cheddar cheese, fried onion and smokey BBQ sauce. It was bloody fantastic. And to top it off, it was in a brioche bun which was so fluffy and a touch sweet.
New York – $8

Mr Kingdom Hearts got the Furious and FYI guys, this was spicy! Topped with concarne bolognese, cheese, jalapenos AND hot sauce, it was way too spicy for me.
Furious – $8
Concarne bolognese, cheese, jalapenos, hot sauce, brioche bun
Of course we had to have hot jam donuts because, who could resist them? They were cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and damn that hot jam was delish!
Hot Jam Donut – $2.50 each
Piggy Smalls is definitely the place to hit up when you’re craving some hotdogs and we will definitely be back for that New York dog and onion rings.
