Had a badminton session with the girlies and of course a catch up isn’t complete until we stuffed our faces at brunch. We went for the option of ‘what’s the closest brunch place’ and thanks those tech-savvy girlies, we were at the kettle black. Like every other brunch place in Melbourne, the routine was the same, you go up to the front, give them your name and how many people in your crew/gang/squad (whatever you all call them these days) and loiter around in front until a table is free and your name gets called out. We were told it was going to be a wait of 35 minutes but some groups didn’t show up when their names were called so we ended up only waiting for 10 minutes (SCORE!).
UK: Tanner and Co, London
It was our last breakfast in London and Mr D knew the drill, we only eat whatever food is known in the country which we’re in. So off we go on our last breakfast adventure and we stopped at Tanner and Co. Since it was only 8AM it wasn’t super busy and we got a table straight away.
UK: The Garrison Public House, London
Before our big Harry Potter Studio adventure, we needed a big breakfast to start the day. We decided to walk from our hotel to the train station and see what there was on offer and we walked straight into The Garrison.
UK: Wheatsheaf, Borough Market (London)
Mr D and I needed breakfast before we headed around London to do touristy stuff (I LOVES THEM TOURISTY THINGS!!) and walked into Wheatsheaf at the Borough’s Market. As we were in London, I’d only let Mr D have pub food so this ticked the box. It was really casual with awesome decor and I was super excited.
SA: Luxxe Café, Adelaide
My hotel was opposite to this cafe and I had to have breakfast early and so I ventured into Luxxe (the concierge heard good things and I trusted him!).
Hardware Societe, Melbourne
I finally got to come here for lunch and of course was expecting a huge queue (as you do in Melbourne these days…sigh) and of course there was. We put our name down and 20 minutes later we got a table (had to share the huge table but who cares, we’re in!).
I got the baked eggs Duex which comes with chorizo, potato, piquillo peppers, queso mahon, toasted almonds, creamy aioli and EGGS!!! This was amazing! Such a winter warmer and careful, because the pot is HOT(don’t burn yourself like I did). Must get dish! Sure it’s filling but isn’t that why you came here? To get full!!
NSW: Cocoa Cafe, Coffs Harbour
Our last stop on my work trip and we were in Coffs Harbour. We stopped at Cocoa Cafe for breakkie since I can’t function without any food (like anyone else could, seriously). It was a really cute cafe and the staff were really friendly. It was quite busy but had a great atmosphere. We were seated and I ordered a glass of orange juice (LOVE OJ!!) and it was freshly juiced.
ACT: Coffee Ruckus, Canberra
So I came here after my unsuccessful attempt at looking for a cafe which I couldn’t find. I dropped in here and the staff were friendly but no one was there (it was 7:30am though).
QLD: Che Asado & Bar, South Bank (Brisbane)
Work trip once again and back at Brisbane and this time I was lucky enough to be staying at South Bank where it’s a full of restaurants, cafe and right next to the man made beach. It’s breakfast once again and I was off on a mission.
An Argentine cafe/bar and was opened at 8am and I decided to drop by here because they had colourful pillows on each bench and gave me a blanket because it was still chilly (now that is great service).
