All the baby cousins decided to take me out just before the wedding and because I wanted something light (so I can fit into my dress), they booked a Japanese place in the city – Wagaya. It was in the mid-city arcade and you’ll have to take the elevator to get there so don’t be disheartened if you’re struggling to find the place. When we got there, it was quite lively and a touch on the loud side. We were shown to our booth upstairs and the babies started rushing towards the touchscreen to place their orders.
Olivigna, Warrandyte
Mr D and I haven’t been out and about for a while so we decided to cash in one of his mate’s good food voucher at Olivigna since Miss Teeth has rated this place quite highly. We made a booking for a Saturday night and it was quite full when we arrived. A lot of parking, beautiful atmosphere and I bet a spectacular looking vineyard if we were to come in the daytime. Anywho, once we arrived, we were shown to our seat and I flicked through the menu quite quickly since I was super duper hungry! We were given the house bread and olive oil (grown from their olive grove) which was awesomely amazing!

Springvale Bread & Cake 2, Springvale
Vietnamese breadrolls A.K.A Banh mi is the bomb and I absolutely adore them. Whenever I’m in St Albans, Footscray or Springvale, that’s my go to snack/lunch depending on what time of day it is. What I look for is the crunchiness of the bread on the outside and on the inside has to be warm and fluffy like clouds. The meats, well the meats have to be full of flavour and yes, it needs to be a generous amount as well. So, walking through Springvale and stopped at Springvale Bread & Cake 2.
Mister Close, Melbourne CBD
Mister Close was suggested by Mrs Traveling couple for my catch up with Miss Mumma since it was smack bang in the middle of the CBD. So off we went and into the Midtown Plaza to find Mister Close and it was such a cute cafe in an unsuspecting plaza.
Anglers Tavern, Maribyrnong
Angler’s Tavern is a pub located on the Maribrynong river in Melbourne’s West had a makeover and my work decided to have a function there (woohoo!). The big boss got the private room with the three course meal which was pretty fancyyyy. The view was fantabulous (well, as fantabulous as the Maribyrnong could be) and the staff were awesomely friendly.
MIA – Finally back from our honeymoon!
Howdy Foodlings,
There hasn’t been any blog posts lately because I just tied the knot (about goddamn time) and went off straight onto our honeymoon to Japan and Maldives. Since I’m back and everything has finally settled down, there will be Melbourne food reviews and some Japan food reviews too (miss all those ramens) coming your way. Stay tuned, be patient and enjoy the influx of food reviews.
Cheerio.
Pho Huong Viet Saigon, Bayswater
We were doing some wedding things on the weekend and I needed to eat or else I won’t be doing any more wedding things for a while. Mr D decided to take me to a place where he use to come by with his Grandpa, Pho Huong Viet Saigon in Bayswater.
Middletown, Prahan
It was the day after my Hen’s (yep, one more month to go guys) and we decided to refuel at a nearby cafe, Middletown in Prahan. Middletown is a Kate-inspired cafe where everything is blue, white and a dash of gold. When you walk in, its classy and sleek, definitely what you would expect from royalty.
Shimbashi Soba & Sake Bar, Melbourne
When searching for something light to have for lunch, Japanese cuisines pop into my mind. Mr D decided to check out Shimbashi Soba and Sake Bar in the city for our lunch catch up with the K sisters. They don’t take bookings so we planned to get there as soon as it opens to beat the traffic and boy were we glad that we did that because by 12:30PM, there were people queuing outside.
The Green Olive, Bendigo
A work trip into regional Victoria meant that we got to check out the local cafe for brunch so everyone was winning! We stopped by The Green Olive, a cafe where it was located in warehouse which is pretty cool.
