Middletown, Prahan

It was the day after my Hen’s (yep, one more month to go guys) and we decided to refuel at a nearby cafe, Middletown in Prahan. Middletown is a Kate-inspired cafe where everything is blue, white and a dash of gold. When you walk in, its classy and sleek, definitely what you would expect from royalty.

We were seated right away and I got a chai latte to start off my Sunday morning. I found this to be quite average. Not very smooth and the chai flavour wasn’t strong either which was disappointing.

Chai Latte – $4

Stooge 1 got her usual Mocha and she too, was disappointed.

Mocha – $4

Well, we were here for the food and we could smell yummy goodness floating around the cafe so we were uber excited! I got the Trio mushrooms because I absolutely adore mushrooms. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly – tender, flavoursome and with great texture. I quite enjoyed this dish and loved the brioche soldiers underneath. The poached eggs were egg-tastic and there were superb ooze porn.

Stooge 1 got the avocado on a sweet potato croquette. I absolutely thought this was very delish but needed a touch of salt to make it perfect. They were quite generous with the amount of avocado which is a big tick in my books.

The staff were lovely but weren’t quite as attentive as other brunch places. The food overall was pretty good and the portion size was ginormous for us. The coffees / chai latte was a touch disappointing but we were there for the food. A very elegant place but I’m not too sure if I’ll be back anytime soon.
