A brunch outing is due with the girlies and one of the girlies picked The Vertue of the Coffee Drink. We arrived at 11:30AM on a Sunday and boy oh boy was it busy, it was peak hour for brunch / lunch. To get to this cute little joint, it’s through an alleyway and then another one and then BAM you’ll see people eating by the tables before you actually see the cafe. Now, once you finally get a seat, you’ll appreciate the decor inside the cafe. It was very green and it gets real warm too guys. Anywho, back to the important part, the drinkies and the food. The girlies got the ginger ninja and if you’re not a fan of ginger then this is not the drinkie for you. Yes it was refreshing but the ginger taste is very strong. Ms Channel loved it though because she’s a huge fan of ginger.
The Albion Rooftop, South Melbourne
If many of you have been loving the South Melbourne area then you would know the story about The Motel where that nightclub had a fire 2 years ago. But two years later, a name and a venue renovation turned The Motel into The Albion. The Albion is now a lifestyle venue which can cater corporate functions and has a rooftop licence till 5 in the morning. Anywho, I was lucky enough to check out the venue before the official opening date and to check out their food (WOOHOO!).
The Views Restaurant, Halls Gap
We were in the Grampians for Ms Teeth’s birthday but we didn’t realise that we needed a booking to get into some of the restaurants. Luckily for us, there was another place 5 mins away called The Views so we dropped by for some dinner. Located in The Grampian motel, the staff were oh so friendly that we couldn’t help but smile as soon as we entered.
Harvest Halls Gap, Halls Gap
It was a girls weekend and we visited Grampians since none of us have been there. Of course the first thing we need to find is a cafe for some coffee and brunch. We were lucky to be staying down the road and saw the Harvest cafe which was a 2 min walk. We stumbled in and was greeted by the lovely staff and plonked ourselves down for some coffee.
Town Tea, Melbourne
When the triplets take you out for tea, they don’t half arse it all all. They promised me tea with cheese (what the??) and of course they delivered when they took us into Town Tea in Chinatown. With great decor and friendly staff, get ready for some cheesiness in your life.
Right to Left: Matcha cheese tea, Watermelon cheese, Lemon Lime Delight, Orange sunrise
Monkey’s Corner, Melbourne
Monkey’s corner has opened a pop up store in conjunction with Koi dessert bar at Hwkr food centre and yes, they are owned by the Poernomo brothers. First up, the pork belly bao. The pork belly was juicy and the bao was quite soft and fluffy. Approved from the triplets.
Pork Belly Bao – $12
KOI Dessert Bar, Melbourne
If you have a sweet tooth then you’ll definitely know the name Reynold Poernomo who rose to fame from Masterchef. If you’ve always wanted to visit Koi in Sydney but didn’t want to travel, I’ve got good news for you. Reynold has opened a pop-up store at Hwkr food hall along with Chanteen by Diana Chan. So of course I made it a date to visit the pop up store because well, EVERYONE LOVES DESSERTS!!!
Chanteen, Melbourne
If you’re a Masterchef fan then you will definitely know the winner Diana Chan in the Masterchef 2017. She has just opened a pop up restaurant called Chanteen at Hwkr food centre inspired by Malaysia and Singapore. The pop up store will be around for 6 months and the masterchef winner herself cooks the food and will come around to say hey!
Hawker Chan, Melbourne
Hawker Chan, the world’s cheapest Michelin Starred restaurant has landed in Melbourne and I was hoping that if I wait it out, the lines would eventually disappear. Unfortunately for me, I decided to go on the last day of Lunar New year and yes, there was a line and yes, we waited 40 minutes before we could get a table. When we finally got in, we I did the ordering the baby triplets went to get a table.
