Thonglor Thai Restaurant, Maribrynong

Thonglor Thai has been around for ages and is right near edgewater near Highpoint. The carpark at the front is always super busy so your best bet is to park across the road where Aldi is and walk over. They also take reservations and it does get busy so make sure you make a booking and this is a bit fancier than your normal Thai restaurant so it is a touch pricier. The staff are super duper friendly and are very attentive and will serve you with a smile on their faces.

Pinkie Cafe, Ivanhoe

Pinkie is located just off the main road, Upper Heidelberg Rd and there’s ample parking and they’re all free on the weekends (SCORE!). It gets quite busy so make sure you have your patience pants on because it can range from a 5 -30 mins wait. But while you wait, you can check out all their delish desserts and sandwiches in the cabinet!

Unica Cucina E Caffe, Rosebud

After a hard day at work, we needed to stop for lunch and when we passed a seafood place in Rosebud, we just had to stop by. Walking in we were greeted by friendly staff and had their attention the whole time. It wasn’t super busy on a Thursday but that just means we’ll get our food way quicker!

Blairgowrie Cafe, Sorrento

Work needed us to go down to sorrento and of course we stopped by Blairgowrie cafe for a pit stop because, well, coffee. There’s plenty of parking around so that’s not a problem and the cafe is a very community orientated eatery (how awesome is that?) and the staff are uber lovely and friendly. There’s plenty of food options and there’s even free wifi (I know this info can be super important to some people) and has an amazeballs library towards the back of the cafe.

Vapiano, Melbourne

Vapiano, an Italian chain that’s all over Australia that serves up pasta and pizza has released a new winter menu which includes PUMPKIN SOUP! Who doesn’t love pumpkin soup! I digress, Vapiano is located in Flinders Lane and there are parking on the street but it’s not a lot and it is quite exy so be prepared to park a touch further and walk there. But don’t let that deter you because the staff and service here are top notch!

Fiorini’s Pizza & Italian, Toorak

I had a date with Ms Curly Fries and unfortunately the restaurant we were planning on going to had a power outage *insert crying face* so of course, being the spontaneous people we were, we made our way Toorak road in search for a new date place. Reaching towards the end of the street, we eyed a quiet Italian restaurant, Fiorini’s Pizza & Italian and in we went. The staff were super duper friendly and were so patient as we looked over the menu to decide what we wanted to have.

Yarra Flats Baking Co., Yarra Glen

On the way to the chocolaterie in Yarra Valley, we realised that we hadn’t had lunch yet so luckily for us, we turned into a shopping strip and eye a bakery, Yarra Flats Baking Co. bakery to be exact. A humble bakery that serves pies, sausage rolls, toasties and of course desserts and pastries by friendly staff! It’s located right next to the carpark so don’t stress about parking either.

Ribs & Burgers, Hawthorn

Ribs and Burgers is known for well, ribs and burgers (duh!) and there’s a new wagyu burger range that has just been released on the menu. Wagyu beef is highly marbled and literally melts in your mouth so how could we not be excited after hearing the new burger range. We visited the Hawthorn venue and there’s quite a bit of street parking on the main road but it’s first in first serve and does fill up quite quickly.

Mjolner, Melbourne

Ever since Mr D heard there’s a viking inspired restaurant in Melbourne, he made sure I made a reservation for his birthday at Mjolner. Located in Hardware Street, there’s no huge neon signs to tell people where it is except for a huge door with a light shining on the logo. I missed it the first time walking past but this concealed door made it more exciting for us.

Elephant Corridor, Glen Waverly

The Glen, renown for difficult parking and heaps of restaurants that’s pumping with customers on every night regardless if it’s a weekday or weekend. Work organised a dinner and Indian cuisine was on the agenda, a booking at Elephant Corridor was made on a Tuesday night. If you are driving, you might get lucky and be able to snag a spot in front of the restaurant but if not, I’d suggest you make your way to the car park complex because you’ll be guaranteed a spot AND it’s free! The restaurant itself was quite darkly lit (guess it’s more date-y??) but the staff were super duper friendly and welcoming.
