Urban Provodore, Tullamarine – Melbourne Airport Terminal 2

Airports, a place where people say goodbye or greet their loved ones. Airports are also a place where people grab some food before their flights or if their flights are delayed. For us, it was before a flight (woohoo!!) and we decided to drop by Urban Provodore for some breakfast. It wasn’t too busy early in the morning and we were starving so we knew exactly what we wanted.

I got the omelette and unfortunately I found it to need more seasoning. The omelette wasn’t fluffy and was quite oily as well.

Hofbräuhaus, Melbourne

Oktoberfest is in full swing in Munich right now and Melbourne isn’t too far behind with various German eateries and German beers available. One of the places you could go to is Hofbrauhaus located in Market Lane and yes, it’s in an alleyway and yes, you’re super safe. So I’ve been to the bar area quite a few times and did not realise that there was a restaurant located right next door! There’s a hostess out in front and make sure you have a reservation because it does get super duper busy. All the staff were dressed in theme and at 7PM on a Saturday night, the live band comes out to play.

Laurent Bakery, Doncaster Westfield Shopping Centre, Doncaster

Laurent Bakery are known for their cakes and hot chocolates so when we were at Doncaster Westfield, we just HAD to pop by and get our sweets fix. Located in the shopping centre, there’s seating inside the store and outside and it does get busy! So if you can find a table, definitely do not give it up.

The hot chocolate here is smooth, rich and chocolaty.

St. LuJa, St Kilda

Dimmi sometimes has amazing offers where some restaurants have 50% off the food menu and that’s such a great value if you want to try different restaurants. Since we were in St Kilda, we checked out St LuJa before we headed to our show. It’s a very cosy place which is a bar / restaurant and serves up a mean cocktail (well mocktails for us because it was a school night). The staff are super duper friendly and we were plonked right in front of the fireplace (talk about romance guys!). We did not waste any time at all and went on an ordering frenzy.

Natural History Bar & Grill, Melbourne

If you love museums and steaks, the have I got a place for you. Natural History Bar & Grill, located on Collins Street serves heaps of dishes from the grill with an extensive and impressive bar. However, be ready for stuffed animals looking at you through the glass windows because yep, it’s like you’re at the Natural History Museum (well I’d assume so since I haven’t been yet but watching movies I’d say that’s pretty spot on!). Anywho, the atmosphere is very casual with very friendly staff so no need for any fancy pants here!

Bob’s Your Uncle Cafe, Doncaster East

I’ve been hearing rave reviews for Bob’s Your Uncle Cafe located in a Jackson Court in Doncaster East so when the Travelling couple suggested a catch up, I suggested the cafe. There’s plenty of parking in the carparks so aim for those instead of trying to park in front of the cafe. Oh, the cafe does get busy so there might be a wait and I only realised that they also do bookings as well so try that if you don’t want to wait. Anywho, I digress. Back to the cafe, the staff were super friendly and very inviting and we managed to snag a table by the back.

Rock Sugar, South Yarra

On Malvern Road in South Yarra sits a new Thai restaurant that pumps 90s R&B and pop music with neon lights on the inside and outside of the restaurant. Inside is a casual setting which reminds me of Thailand (it’s the neon lights I say!) and the staff are so welcoming. Plenty of seats, plenty of drinkies and of course plenty of food!

Holla Coffee Roasters, Richmond

Holla! Got your attention now haven’t I? Well Holla Coffee Roasters also got my attention and located on the quiet end of the Victoria Street in Richmond. There’s parking in the back streets so don’t worry if you drive in. Walking inside, you can feel the buzz of the cafe and you’ll notice that heaps of customers come in and get take away coffees. The staff were super friendly and the space was sleek with plenty of greenery.

When I heard that there was a cheese high tea at Westin Hotel in collaboration with Maker & Monger, I had to make a reservation at once! So for $70 per person, you get a range of cheese savouries to sweets with unlimited tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

Mister Greens Cafe, Forest Hill

I’ve been religiously booking restaurants via Dimmi and even offering to be the booker in my group of friends so I can get the Dimmi points. So we looked around our area where we could use our Dimmi Rewards and decided on Mister Greens Cafe. I made the booking online and BAM turned up at the venue. There’s plenty of parking in front of Mister Greens and if there’s no space, there’s parking in front of kfc and woolies too. We walked in and said that we had a reservation, the staff had no clue about the booking (even though I had a confirmation email…?) and luckily it wasn’t too busy yet so there were plenty of free tables around.
