The Lion King Musical has finally hit Melbourne and of course another excuse for date night. The lovely boyfriend took me to a surprise dinner date at Neapoli Wine Bar but obviously while he was leading me there I kept thinking to myself “why does he keep insisting going down the dark alley ways?” But as soon as we got to the wine bar, I was blown away.
Song Huong, St Albans
St Albans is surrounded by numerous vietnamese eateries and we decided to have dinner at Song Huong. It’s always busy and there’s two sections. As we entered, we were seated very quickly and were given menus. I, of course got my stir crispy combination noodle and I couldn’t be happier. It was such a huge portion and boy was it crispy. The sauce was amazing and there was so many things on it ranging from seafood to chicken!! This is the third place in St Albans where I get my combination noodles and this is the best one yet.
Terra Rossa, Melbourne
I came here for date night and had no regrets! The weather was gloomy and rain was pouring but we battled the seasons to get into Terra Rossa. Once inside, the atmosphere was buzzing and we were greeted instantly and shown to our table. The menus came out and we skimmed over it and everything looked delish. The slow cooked duck salad was sold out (damn!! really wanted it) so we decided to order drinks and the savoury first.
Lazat, Sunshine
I’ve always drove past here so I finally decided to actually come in. Came in early on a Tuesday night for dinner and it was empty, the decor was cute with lanterns hanging from the roof and background music had old songs playing.
Kimchi Hut, Glen Waverly
A spur of the moment decision to go to Kimchi Hut for some Korean food in Glen Waverly (there isn’t a lot of Korean restaurants around here which is a bit disappointing).
Your Thai Rice and Noodle Bar, Melbourne
I have been here a couple of times and decided to come here for cheap eats and quick service. My usual dish is the green curry (LOVE!!!!) but I thought I’ll be different and try something else on the menu, Tom Yum Noodle Soup with chicken. Tom Yum soup doesn’t traditionally come with noodles of any sort but this dish came with vermicelli noodles. The soup base was very average and I think the noodles were overkill. I also got the durian smoothie (yes, some people find it stinky but I think it’s the best smell in the world!) and I quite enjoyed it.
D House Cafe, Melbourne
Went to D House Cafe for a Sunday lunch date on Swanston street and it was surprisingly pleasant. We were escorted to the upper level and seated right next to the window where we had good view of the busy passerby and enjoyed people watching.
