Wondering around in the city lagging behind Mr D while he looks at more sneakers (yes, how many sneakers does one actually need?) and I realised that I needed a sugar hit. So where do we decide to go? Cupcake central at MC of course.
am Dessert, Footscray
Since we didn’t have dessert after dinner, Mr Slowpoke suggested we go down the road and try out the new dessert place, am Dessert which opens till midnight every night (Yes, even on a school night!).
Hog’s Breath Cafe, Wantirna South (Knox Ozone Shopping Centre)
So Mr D’s fam bam decided to have lunch at Hog’s Breath Cafe at Knox (yep, like a road trip for me!) and so in we go.
Hash Specialty Coffee & Roasters, Melbourne
I’ve been seeing photos of this amazing hot chocolate with fairy floss and I convince the creative couple to drop by for some coffee (OR HOT CHOCOLATE!!!). We got there at 2:30PM and was pretty surprised that it wasn’t packed. You know you’re here when you see the sign with the hast tag (get it?? because it’s called HASH!).
PappaRoti, Springvale
Mr D really wanted me to try the PappaRoti buns in Springvale since this was the first place they opened.
Koko Black, Doncaster (Westfield Doncaster Shopping Centre)
While shopping casually in Westfield I was getting grumpy since I didn’t have any sugar in me, sooooo Mr suggested KOKO BLACK!! I’m more of a sweets person and I know koko black chocolates are a bit more on the darker side but hey, I’m not going to refuse CHOCOLATE!!
We entered the chocolate hub and was greeted by friendly staff and chose to sit in the corner with the cushy chairs (not going to be a sucker and sit on them hard chairs yo!). I decided to get the classic belgian hot chocolate. There were so many different hot chocolate flavours and since I was in a boring mood, I chose the classic one. To be honest, it was okay. Not super sweet, not that thick but it wasn’t bad either.
Dex2rose Nitrogen Gelato, Melbourne
Dex2rose is the new gelaterie in the CBD, opened for 7 months now and these bad boys are using Nitrogen to make their ice creams and gelato. I was invited by Dex2rose for a tasting menu and all opinions expressed are my own.
Dex2rose is located in an alley way and there is a sign pointing to the location (LOVE SIGNAGES!).

Operator 25, Melbourne
Brunch catch up with Miss Pear and her friend was due and I got to pick and BAM Operator 25. I got there early with Mr D just before 12PM on a sunday (Yep, peak hour for lunch) and I put my name down on the list with an expected wait of 20-30 mins (Mr D wasn’t too impressed at all…).
The Firehouse, Ringwood
Since it was a rainy, cold Melbourne sunday which also hailed, we decided to not take our chances and miss the Melbourne Open houses and have lunch instead. Mr D took me to The Firehouse and it was literally the old Metro Fire Station and turned it to an eatery (how cute is that???). We came through the back and was so confused to where we were suppose to go….Mr D found the right door…haha
Prego Espresso Bar, Bundoora (Bundoora Square)
We were in the Bundoora area and it was lunch time. Since Mr D’s fam bam were there, we decided to get the quick option (after lots of indecisive back and forth) and opted for the Prego Espresso Bar. We were spoilt for choice considering it was a cafe/bar in the middle of a shopping centre. There were paninis, cakes, sandwiches, muffins, coffees and even the nutella donuts which is the craze lately.
