Shanklin Cafe is rated very highly on zomato and you can imagine how excited I was when I was invited to drop by. HELL to the YEAH! Located on the main road, it can be hard to miss BUT if you keep your eyes peeled, you’ll know where it is from all the customers sitting outside brunching the day away. We walked in and was greeted by very friendly and chillaxing staff.
It was a warm day so I thought “let’s get healthy on smoothies!” and my gosh the Acai smoothie was very refreshing, very healthy tasting and oh so delish! I could literally drink this all day if I could.

Mr D got the cold drip coffee and I was super excited when it came out in beakers because “SCIENCE!”. Mr D loved it. It was smooth, strong and very aromatic and you definitely need to be a coffee lover to because it does hit you in the face.

I’m a sucker for anything signature so when I saw that the portobello mushroom was a signature dish, I HAD to get it. It was literally heaven in my mouth. The zaatar spice, roasted capsicum with halloumi and topped with perfectly poached eggs, holy moly! It was a brunch with a mix of middle eastern flavours and whatever it was doing in my mouth, I was loving it!

Mr D got the Shanklin Breakfast and asked for scrambled eggs. Fried eggs came out and we let the staff know and they quickly rectified it came out with the correct eggs in no time. It’s quite difficult to get the big breakfast wrong and Shanklin did not get it wrong at all. The bacon had a slight crunch to it and the potato rosti was crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. Mr D was totes satisfied.
