It was our last catch up with the Traveling couple before the jetset off for two years so we decided to do the most Melbourne thing and have brunch at the most cutie patootie cafe name Three Monkeys Place in Doncaster East.

Opposite the cafe, there was a huge parking lot so parking was a breeze which ticked Mr D’s boxes (YAY!). We got there at 11AM and it wasn’t too full so we were able to get a table within minutes of arriving. The Traveling Couple arrived 5 minutes after and we took a looksie at the menu. Since it was super cold, I got my usual chai latte. This was oh so lovely and oh so warm. It was creamy, it was very chai-y and so smooth like Barry White’s voice. LOVED IT!

Mr D got a latte and and he thought it was wasn’t too bad and finished it in no time.

Now, what we were all waiting for, BRUNCH TIME! I was craving pancakes and saw on the menu that they had roti pancake!! This was so orgasmically eye pleasing and very instagrammable. There were mixed berries, banana, mascarpone and maple syrup. The roti pancake was fluffy and quite crispy, not like anything I’ve had before. The maple syrup was lovely (who doesn’t have syrup with their pancakes?) and the mixed berries gave it a hint of colour and flavour. Absolutely thought this dish was AMAZEBALL!

The rest of the table got the playground which had bacon, shimeji mushroom, spinach, poached eggs and heaps of other things. Mr D enjoyed it but when I had a bit of the cassoulet beans and spinach, I found that it needed a bit more seasoning. The eggs were cooked perfectly and yolk oozed out giving it the ultimate yolk porn.

This is the most cutest cafe with the cutest name. They’re also children friendly and there’s an outdoor courtyard area so there’s plenty of space. The food is to die for and the chai was top notch. Mr D wasn’t quite impressed with the coffee, but hey, everyone has their weaknesses. Will definitely come back and make it a local joint.
