Father’s Office, Melbourne

The work squad decided to have a day out where we were going to finally pop their exitus cherry. What do we need to do before we start trying to escape? Eat of course! I booked Father’s Office because of three reasons: 1. Miss Mousey has been and loved it, 2. It was right next door to exitus and 3. We could get 25% off using the Entertainment Book.

We were shown to the restaurant which had kind of a sailor theme to it in my opinion (there wasn’t any ropes or anything, just very sailor-y). Anywho, we were served by a lovely, bubbly and fun wait staff and made everyone feel all giddy everytime she came by. Now, back to the actual food. I decided to have something light, which meant two small dishes instead of a main. First up, I got the crumbed camembert with beetroot chutney. THIS WAS AMAZING! I am the cheese queen and will eat anything cheesy. When you cut the cheese (no not that kind of cutting the cheese), it was so squishy and so gooey that I couldn’t contain my excitement. The beetroot chutney was quite fragrant and chunky, great combination I say.

I also got 6 pieces of the  world famous buffalo wings which comes with celery sticks (pass) and blue cheese sauce (Yes please!). I did not realise that buffalo wings meant spicy hell in my mouth but what can you do. The blue cheese sauce was a tad too runny for my liking and I found that the wings weren’t cooked in the buffalo sauce but instead, the sauce was slapped onto the wings before being served which I found disappointing.

Mr Hipster got the beef and honey works burger had black angus beef patty marinated with honey in a brioche bun with various goodies inside including bacon, pineapple, beetroot chutney, BBQ and even vegemite mayo. Mr Hipster chose not to have the vegemite mayo which was odd because he ADORES vegemite. He really enjoyed his burger and the beef patty, by golly it was GINORMOUS. I did find it to be a tad dry but when mixed with everything else, it was pretty damn good.

Miss Teacher got the rump steak and she said she quite thoroughly enjoyed it. It also comes with chippies, aioli and mixed salad. She smashed the steak and didn’t leave any for Mr Hipster.

Mrs Tequila got the trio of sliders where there were buffalo chicken, american cheeseburger and pulled pork all served on mini brioche buns. She said it was succulent she got to try the whole range.

Father’s Office is a lovely venue with very attentive and helpful staff. The food was pretty good and everyone was full to the brim and we had to roll out of the eatery. A great place for dinner or even drinkies if you want to catch up with your mates.
