Stalactites is a Melbourne Institution and most Melburnians would have stopped by here on a late drunken escapade as it’s opened 24 hours. So when Baby A only has a few nights left in Melbourne before he jet sets off back to QLD, all the babies decided to take him to Stalactite.
Vanilla, Oakleigh
With having a new job near Christmas means Christmas lunches are due and our lunch was at Vanilla in Oakleigh. On a Tuesday lunch, my gosh, finding parking was hectic so I’d recommend you park where Coles is. Now, back to the restaurant, it was buzzing like mad and there were so many people and so many things going on. Vanilla is a ginormous restaurant with a lounge downstairs and a restaurant upstairs. Once you walk in, you’ll be greeted with the sweets cabinet by the counter.
Hellenic Republic, Brunswick
I was in charge of organising dinner for work and lucky me, I got to pick the place. After hours of running around, a work colleague suggested Hellenic Republic (it was closer to his house) and I realised that this place has been on my to go list since FOREVER! Why does this name ring a bell you say? That’s because it’s one of George Calombaris’ (yep, that guy from masterchef) restaurant. Luckily, I was able to make a reservation for 18 people on a Saturday night at one weeks notice. Anywho, there was a 2 hours time limit but that didn’t deter me at all.
Jimmy Grants, Ringwood (Eastland Shopping Centre)
After my appointments Mr D wanted to check out the new and improved Eastland. It was lunch time and I was getting hungry but not yet hangry and after walking around the food area, we stopped at Jimmy Grants since Mr D didn’t share with me last time.
Jimmy Grants, Melbourne (Emporium)
Mr D was a touch peckish and needed something to eat. I suggested the souva at Jimmy Grants and he said it was GINORMOUS and decided to go for the kiddies one instead (KIDS??? WHAT??!!).
