Malaysian Laksa House, Melbourne

There was a new Malaysian Laksa eatery which has just opened on Elizabeth street and Miss Travel decided to check it out and so I tagged along. Since it was the opening night, it was super duper packed and luckily we came early so we were able to get a table. The staff gives you a menu at the table and you just order up front when you’re ready. I got the iced teh tarik and I love this, its just pulled milk tea. Miss Travel got the soya bean and she too, enjoyed her drinkie.

Mr D had a lunch wedding and since I was his plus 1, I got to go too (woohoo!). After a day of eating and drinking in the city, we decided that we needed to refuel and dun dun dun….dumplings were on the agenda. The renown dumplings in Melbourne were at HuTong Dumpling Bar and so off we went inside to fulfill our dumplings desire.

Since the stooges haven’t been together for a while, this means we gotta re-unite and we all decided to check out another cuisine we haven’t tried – burmese food at Burma Lane. I made a booking for 3 on a Friday night at 6:30PM and the two stooges got there first and bagged our table.

Sister Of Society, Prahan

Chapel street, the street known for partying, shopping, no where to park and good food. So it’s no surprise when a new Asian Fusion eatery, Sister Of Society popped up on Chapel Street 6 weeks ago. When I stepped inside, I was greeted warmly by the staff and was shown to my table. While checking out the interior, you can not miss the GINORMOUS S.O.S neon signage – perfect spot for all them instagrammable photos yo!

Miss Train and I decided that we needed a sugar hit and was banking on Matcha Mylkbar but since it was super full (it was a one hour wait? OH EM GEE!!), we decided to walk around St Kilda and see where we could drop by. Eventually we got tired of walking and ended up at Veludo (it was also in the Entertainment Book, SCORE!).  So we plopped out tooshies down and looked over the menu.

The Meatball & Wine Bar, Melbourne

image

It was ANZAC day which meant the dawn service will get people out of their beds and stay for the ANZAC parade. While Miss Train and I couldn’t get our butts out early enough, we did make it in time for the parade and shuffled on over to the Meatball and Wine Bar for some brekkie. The Meatball and Wine bar is the hot spot for catching up with friends over wine or good hearty food. However, due to the ever growing of popularity of breakfast, they have recently opened their doors for breakfast on the weekdays. So this was where I spent my morning with Miss Train.

Stop 17 Cafe & Bar, Fitzroy

Stop 17 is the newest addition to the Fitzroy cafe scene (you also get off at tram stop 17 as well!). Big deal, I hear you say. Sure we have heaps of cafes everywhere but what makes this one special is that upstairs there’s a writer’s room. What’s a writer’s room? It’s a room where you can study / write / contemplate about life and you won’t get rushed out or disturbed unless you want to be. Also, they have BREAKFAST ALL FREAKING DAY!! Let the brunch adventure begin at Stop 17!

Mahn Doo, Melbourne

The baby triplets have been wanting to go on a date with Mr D and myself and finally we were all free for it (YAYERS!). The girlies of course adored Korean food and I wanted to check out Mahn Doo since we’ve always parked next to it and have never gone inside. So this time, we’re heading into Mahn Doo.
