When I heard that Shannon Bennett opened up an ethical burger place, Benny Burger, I made sure I had to stop by for a visit. We dropped by the Collins Street eatery and it was small but the staff were super duper friendly. They took time in explaining the menu, what we would like and where everything came from. First impressions – loving it! We went to order at the counter and waited for our number to be called.
The salted fries were crunchy, crispy and seasoned with the right amount of salt. Definitely get the fries if you’re a chippies lover.
Salted Fries – $4
I’m an original kinda gal and got the Benny which contains a beef patty with no bells or whistles. It doesn’t come with cheese and that will cost extra! The beef was on the dry side and even with the ketchup and mayo, the burger as a whole was quite dry. The overall taste, it was pretty average.
The Benny – $10.90
125g Wagyu beef, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, organic ketchup, mayo
I was quite disappointed with the burger at Bennys and unfortunately I won’t be back. Sorry Benny’s burgers!
